The Domestic total went up so when actuals are released on Monday they could go up more. 2nd Biggest global opening of the year (Behind Lilo & Stitch) and the biggest 4th of July box office of all time. Can it get to a Billion? Well "Minecraft" got close but tapped out at 950. "Lilo & Stitch" is almost there at 972. Again both of those were family oriented films. "Jurassic" also appeals to families. There is competition from two Comicbook films (Supes and Fantastic), "I know what you did last summer" and "Smurfs". Being that "Jurassic" has a long history of summer success I don't expect it to drop off that much. The Bottom line, it's another hit movie so expect "Jurassic 8" in 3 to 4 years in 2028 or 2029.

Part of being an adult is knowing when something is for you....JP franchise has always been marketed towards kids (age 8 to 16)

The kids in the original JP will always be the most annoying. The kids in this movie really weren't that bad.
Once again its a JP movie. We've all seen dinosaurs in these movies and they haven't changed much. The mutant dinosaur did look dumb tho. It's a decent summer ride and there isnt much to critique or praise tbh.

LMFAO! Im still tripping over them taking that lil azz boat to go dinosaur hunting. Even the folks hunting Jaws knew they needed a bigger boat.
I was about to go see Jurassic Park yesterday but woke up with a gigantic headache. Maybe i'll catch it next weekend.

Next franchise name: Jurassic Equator 
The JP kids in general aren't bad, the little girl was brave for opening the gate and the other daughter getting the raft...
It was the lack of dinosaurs catching bodies like in JP2, JW, etc which made this a snooze fest..

And the final climatic scene was very well done but the characters were PAPER thin. I mean thinner than any of the ones in the Jurassic World trilogy. The writing was laughably bad in some parts. Scarlett and Ali did the best they could but not even they could breathe personality into these DOA characters. And the family was just annoying. All of them. The dad, the boyfriend, the two daughters, annoying. I will say the boyfriend got the funniest line of the movie and the only laugh from the audience I saw it with.
Its going to make a gazillion dollars so they’ll have another at bat just wish they could write better characters.
