Does NYc have any of these federal contractor jobs?
I would think NYC should have lots of Federal contracting jobs. But you may need to check clearancejobs.com and USAJOBS.gov for open positions. It just kind of shocked me to get an offer for a cleared job last month. It must mean these Federal contract companies must be desperate. I turned it down because the private sector is still paying more money far as base salaries.

I'll say this, I'm an electrician and I'm also one of the few people on my whole job who actually got both jabs, most people didn't even get 1 and will openly tell you they don't plan to in the immediate future. A lot of posters here don't realize the people not getting the jab, know they have a lot more leverage in this situation than posters here think. You can't just replace an electrician, plumber, or HVAC tech overnight, especially in a place like NYC where it's all under a union contract. Don't be suprised at all if these cities and local governments start to pull back on these vaccination mandates before too long.
I don't know how it is in Dallas, but NYC is full of scabs & disgruntled Journeymen that would step in. Contractors always tried to slip them in on sites even before the mandate. Now they have a reason. The job site doesn't care as long as the job can be finished on time & it can be done without major injuries. Dealing with that was a headache for me in a former life. I can spot a union spy from a mile away

Or they realized that we aren't in a dictatorship and shouldn't be mandated by our governments to force experimental serums in our bodies

Romans 13:1-7 ESV
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. ...
