Watched the whole fight during a meeting :pachaha:
Was kinda boring despite the knockdowns.
Ruiz is not defensively responsible at all :beli:, fast hands ..even slower feet that we’ve seen in the past.
Think he should get down to sub 250 (and not do it with weeks to spare so he is drained) so he can get out of the way of shyt, he became real gun-shy after he got tagged.

Ortiz should bow out imo, punch resistance just ain’t really there anymore but he finished the fight stronger of the two:salute:

Ruiz needs that mass for power though.

In the Arreola fight he was like a wet bag coming in light.

Imo he gotta run the gauntlet and either shoot or get shot. His feet are trash as you said, but they're pretty trash at any weight unfortunately.

aight so i caught a replay of this PPV

el rayo learned a lesson early.....the boxing gods def did not like PBC trotting out francisco vargas out there to be destroyed knowing good gotdamn well thats a very faded warrior that should have not been licensed...corrales was not a bad opponent but de los santos was just the right one as at least they had similar records plus he was a puncher to boot..i guess sometimes opponents do hit back and harder :laff:

mares v flores - i will say this flores would have been beaten and bodied at mares peak....mares is not the same fighter..he is very past his best....dude was landing the overhands but flores didnt go anywhere...flores has been ko'ed in 3 of his 4 losses...mares was on fumes in the 2nd half of the fight..esp the last couple of rounds..the PBC draw was legit although i can see it go either way. if i was mares id seriously call it a career...to continue he will get bodied just like jhonny gonzalez did to him 9-10 years ago and it will be ugly

cruz ko'ing a super featherweight ramirez - im telling you...how he is being moved with his opponents is not good lol.

the main event - was trash outside of a couple of rounds....ortiz is sliding down faded mountain at an increased pace....he looked terrible...ruiz ive been said this man is talented but his conditioning (no matter what he is talking about) is trash...nevertheless i thought this fight was going to be finished in round 2..honestly ortiz should have not escaped that damn round..but then it went for this long stretch of low activity with ruiz dropping dude in the 7th..then after ruiz got hit more and started to fade and got lumped up in the later rounds by an ortiz who had one of his eyes closed and started to surge...without the 3 knockdowns ortiz could have pulled out a pbc draw...so barring wilder losing to helenius, that im sure is the next pbc PPV for 2023...ruiz really needs to get his conditioning together and work on his footwork...ortiz needs to retire...its over for him
