RAW was, well it was rough to get through after the 1st 45 mins- hour. Thats the exact reason why to watch the show on DVR and skip commercials and terrible segments. That 3 hours can seem like forever.
Good:
- The opening segment. Owens/ Rollins/ Foley and Stephanie all played their roles well in the segment. Owens got the crowd to turn on him quick. Rollins showed he can have the crowd behind him, and we all know he can turn the crowd on him whenever needed. Foley didnt let Steph run over him with decisions, and Steph actually stepped back for once. (We all know she will get her revenge down the line). Really good segment.
- Jericho/ Rollins match was the best of the night. Very good match, and Jericho still has 'it' (well, some of it. He is damn near 50, right?)
- Jericho-Owens pairing is gold right now. Those 2 just mesh together well.
- Sasha Banks acting. As others have said, she doesnt have the best voice overall, but she conveyed some real emotion and really had people thinking she was going to retire. They played Dana's music at the PERFECT time too. Didnt do much toward the rematch at Clash, but it had people on the hook for a while, which was the point.
- The 1.25 seconds that Alicia Fox reacted after the box accidentially hit Nia Jax in their backstage segment. She make that audible gasp as if she was about to get the ____ beat out of her, lol. Nia shoved that chick hard into the table. At least Nia gets a name to beat up on at Clash.
- Owens/ Reigns next week should be good.
Bad:
- 3 Squash matches? Three? We all understand why Strowman and Nia Jax are squashing people, to build them up as monsters. Makes sense. There is NO reason why Bo Dallas is getting a squash match. Are we really gonna build up Bo Dallas? Right after a drunken episodes on a plane. Roman gets suspended and pushed down the card. Titus got suspended for horsing around with the boss, and brought back to feud with Darren Young, but Bo gets built up for squash matches? That privilege is showing again. Smh. We will see how this goes.
- Sheamus 3, Cesaro 0. The fact that the series is 3-0 isnt really the bad thing. We all know that Cesaro will come back and make it 3-3, and match 7 will be at Clash of the Champions. The Bad is the fact that Sheamus gets 3 match wins all on PPVs and RAW, and Cesaro will get his 1st win at a non-televised house show in Europe is just a terrible decision, and just shows they have no love for Cesaro. He should be on SD anyway. Terrible. (NOTE: Just read (rumor) that Cesaro's deal is up in 30-45 days and no word if he re-signed yet. That might play a part in him getting screwed in this series)
- The mic work by Enzo this week wasnt good. The fact that the 'E had Enzo and Cass lose to the Shining Stars this week was even worse (Jobbers went 1-3 this week)
Ugly:
- The whole New Day/ Gallows & Anderson segment. Nothing about it was funny. Neither side worked. The old dudes didnt work. Did nothing for anyone to make them want to watch another match between these teams, which is sad because the matches are actually pretty decent. They have booked this whole feud terribly.
- Titus/ Darren Young. Why is this still a thing? (NOTE: Both segments in the Ugly feature black wrestlers? Come on, writing team. At least make us think we have a chance)
After this RAW, the Clash on Sept. 25 looks like:
- Owens (c)/ Rollins- Universal title
- Rusev (c)/ Reigns- US title (Rusev will probably cost Reigns next week. There isnt anyone else for him to fued with at that level for the title.)
- New Day (c)/ Gallows & Anderson- Tag titles
- Charlotte (c)/ Sasha Banks- Womens title
- Nia Jax/ Alicia Fox
- Sheamus/ Cesaro (Match 7- Best of 7 series)
(Biggest error is not having the Cruiserweight Classic final be on this card for the new title. That just makes too much sense.)
I think Jericho will be on there (Zayn?) and Enzo/Cass will get a tag match too.
