9/9/99 - REMEMBERING THE DREAMCAST (16 YEARS LATER)

my all-time favourite console!!
one of a kind and ahead of its time!!

this was a special time for me brehs,i didn't get my dreamcast on 9/9/99
i got my dreamcast around the time it launched in europe along with sonic the hedgehog,
sega rally,nba 2k and soul calibur.
man, i saved money for years to get all that shyt!!
launch titles were impeccable. i played this shyt for months before getting a new game in dead or alive 2.
then i got crazy taxi.
60 fps with offspring as a soundtrack,dope game!!

my friend, an exchange student from germany,also had a deamcast.he was more into
rpgs and shyt. he had resident evil and skies of arcadia.so i played those games at his place!!
i was not big on rpgs at the time, but did skies of arcadia convert me like a motherfukker.
and then in the late 2000s, shenmue arrived (ordered it)
to this day, it is the most fulfilling gaming experience of my life!!

this scene had me emotional, cause 1) i didn't get a chance to fight Lan Di and 2)i knew my fave game was about to reach its conclusion. i hate open endings!!
in 2001, i had come to accept that dreamcast was over
in 2001,i still got sonic adventure 2, headhunter and shenmue 2 to play, so the dreamcast went out with a bang for me!!

The Arcade Ports were flawless, I remember putting days into playing
MVC 2 high as fukk.with my fam and mastering that game. Despite the bulky controller that machine was a godend. Man I hate Sega for folding

man, you bringing back memories!!
on weekends, my friends and i would go clubbing till 3 am.
walk home around 3 km to my place, still drunk and high from the alcohol and the experience of the night,
sneak into my room, play nba 2k till around 6/7 am and then sneak my friends out before the parents noticed
good times!!!

I stood in line on 9/99 at the ebgames in my mall for this beast of a console. Was in 7th grade. Saved all my summer money and copped a dreamcast NFL2K and Sonic Adventure. Still remember my mom asking who was playing when I fired up that 2K
