List is accurate...

But didn't really warrant a list. Either you want a kid or not. Wants onto themselves are selfish.

How much do people get paid to write these articles? If it's something like $50 bux a pop I'm on it...because the amount of bullshyt I read I could at least write myself and be compensated for it.

Some additional reasons is

1. Being a hoe/thot is rewarded so women do not want to have children in their 20s when they are at their prime. They will have one in their late 30s with a simp.

2. Dating no longer exists. Just chatting online, texting, social media, facetime, which are impossible ways to find a spouse who is marriage material.

3. Children cost too damn much to have and no one wants to be dragging a baby in a baby stroller on the public bus to buy diapers from walmart every two weeks in their 20s when they could be enjoying their youth.

4. Even when you get a job its hard to make ends meet. People are poor even while working full time at a company. Who has time to raise kids?

5. Some people have a full paying job but still living with mom because they cant even afford a studio apartment. How can they bring another person into that equation.

TBH not having children is far from selfish. It shows that you are responsible to wait for when the time is right instead of giving in the pressure from family, society, and friends to have children.

This is just the trajectory western society will go towards. Accessible birth control, more gender equality, economic fluctuations/debt. Women don't NEED men to function anymore. So, less "necessary" marriage/relationships, less kids. We don't need to have 13 kids because mortality rates are lower. I mean no more than 100 years ago, people would have this many kids and you wouldn't be surprised if only 5 of them lived to 35. People mostly live in areas where children aren't helping work the fields, so why have too many? Or any for that reason.

I have a few friends/family members who don't want kids. We're all mid to late 20's, early 30's men and women. Things are just different now.

When people have kids who are not stable it's really disappointing to me. I know people say there is no perfect time, but there's certainly a wrong one IMO...

Yeah no unwanted kids but if you look at the people they are profiling, educated probably better off, you would want them to have families, not for eugenics, but since sadly, we live in a society where a kid's trajectory and well being are closely tied to the parents' social status and maintaining a large middle class requires the middle class to have kids...

True but if you've seen the movie Idiocracy you already know how this situation plays out.

The demographic effects are going to be...interesting a few decades from now. Pretty much lose-lose all around for our generation to be honest :francis:

They could've started and stopped at the "Poor as Hell" part. That's the major determinant to people having families. People don't stop wanting to reproduce.

Peace

This.. and being cognizant of the fact that you'd be an awful parent are the only 2 reasons worth mentioning....

I don't think that's how mortality rates work... If you were born, you were probably good for 60 plus years... life expectancy comes down drastically when you factor in kids that died during or before child birth during that period

I mean for people in general, not just infants.

Safety issues at work, lack of vaccines, lack of medical care, etc. were all pretty prevalent back then. Not unheard of for some 13 year old kid working at a factory getting chopped up by a grinder, or for you to contract polio or scarlet fever and kick the bucket.
