Considering trading in my 991 S for a 991.2 Turbo or GT3 as I've been falling more and more in love with them. They're a lot more aggressive than the S, but what I hesitate on is the practicality. I use my S as my daily driver and I already use something else in the GT3/Turbo bracket...

I'll prolly make my decision after the 2019 911 official reveal.

What makes these cars so impractical for daily driving? I've seen this mentioned in here a few times.

If you have any dental fillings they will need to be replaced after a morning commute

Tires are like $500 a pop and last maybe 10K miles

Front end is long and low... you will scrape

They are so fast the only way to really have fun in them is to go to the track or drive them like the OP

Etc.

I love these cars but I would never get one unless I could take them to the track like 1-2x a month. A 911 GT3 on the street is like a tiger in a project apartment

These cars are superb daily drivers if you're not old, flabby and impacted by the low, wide door sills. 99% of the people in here have never even driven a Porsche. They're just parroting talking points from youtube reviewers and online forums.

GT3 is my 2nd fav right under the Carrera GT.

CGT was $450K when they came out in '04-'05, now they are $800K+. Porsche only made 1,200 of them beast.
A guy in the building I used to live in had one. Hot damn breh... Those lines are timeless. And he outfitted it with an Inconel exhaust. :whew::whew::whew:

So true on the bolded. I know it had to sound just :blessed: everytime you heard it. Only seen one twice on the road and its the same guy that owns it, he had it a car show we had a few months ago.. Nevermind the fact that it was parked next to a 918 Spyder.

Not to derail the thread but these cars are just so superb in detail and the sound is just :noah:

When cars were built for men, not EPA guidelines.

Nice Beetle. :lolbron:

No but seriously it's a beast of a car, and Porches offer timeless aesthetics for the exterior, but I really don't like their price and impracticality. This is something the Japanese tend to do well.

I don't like Porches much myself, but I know the 911's are the benchmark for a reason.

you dont really buy a 911 to go and take your kids to school or go grocery shopping :francis:
