A 7/10 game rating IS a mid game

It doesnt hold true all the time, but a vast majority of games rated 7/10 are mid. Look at all Ubisoft games, most are in the 7s, yet the company is damn near going under

If you grade on a grade school level it's mid but if you are rating on a 1-10 scale 7 out of 10 is good.

A 7 is mid/average/wait for sale status in my opinion. Unless I really rock with the devs then I wouldn’t mind picking it up on release. An 8 is great and 9-10 is amazing.

Too many 8’s and 9’s i want to play to pay full price for a 7, and if a game im looking forward to scores in the low 70’s that means its super mid

I feel like a game has to have serious problems to score that low. A 5 to me is a game thats playable but has zero fun factor, so to score that low a game has to be a frustrating experience all around.

Inaccurate or not, I view the term “mid” as slang for “mediocre”, not middle.

C grades (7/10s) are considered mediocre grades. 5/10s aren’t considered mediocre, those are flat out Fs.

So yea, I use the academic grading scale for game, movie, and television reviews.
