i never said anything about him being a great play maker
i said he had some games where he had 7-8 assists lol not sure why you are getting emotional

rose had already accepted a reduced role, once we kept switching up the offense and he got confused and just resorted back to what he knew

Yet he was still averaging less than 5 assists per game during that span before Hornacek changed the offense back to the triangle in late February, but a couple of early season "passing" surprises should negate all of that. Why are you lauding him for his handful of high assists game when he had a total of only nine games of seven assists or more?

not garbage, but it was a mediocre 18ppg, considering how often touched the ball and how long he had it. Rose is not a good pg in general, he was the second option last year( Not a third one like people here want you to believe lately, and stats back this up), he had plenty of opportunities to show otherwise. The team ran the triangle maybe 25% of the time last year,and he had plenty of pick and roll opportunities last year. Rose was consistently a bad defender and a bad playmaker, every decision he made looked like it was premeditated, and not based off of a read of the defense. He doesn't get to the line, and can't stretch the defense because he can't shoot, so he fukked up spacing when he played. The Knicks weren't the greatest team in the world, but you have a 7'3" guy who moves like a sg and actively cuts off of the ball, and an elite spot up shooter in Carmelo, how do you not average more than 4 assists per game? Jarrett Jack is averaging more now, and he's washed and not a pass first pg himself.

Not all of that was aimed at you, this is just a general statement being made in light of all of the Rose revisionist history being made the past couple of months. He sucked as a starter last year, he sucked the previous two years, and he sucks now, and I'm 95% sure last game he played against us, while trying to inbound the ball, he passed it to KP thinking they were still teammates. It's been 4 years of excuses for the guy, how long before we admit he's not that good?

No one was more shocked than me at Rose's lack of court vision once he arrived. Pre-injury Rose and Kobe were once my favorite players to watch. I saw more of Kobe than Rose so I had no idea. I knew he used to hover around 6-7 assists a game.
I said Rose is not garbage. I will say it again: He's not garbage. Garbage players cannot average 18 ppg. No matter how much usage they have. I know alot of fans are mad at Rose for not having a jumper, for only seeing the rim, but it is what it is. A good coach will find a way to maximize whatever talent they have. The role he had here didn't suit him. Not making excuses for him, it's a fact. The best role for him today is a scorer in the 2nd unit where he will feast. Because he's not garbage. All I'm saying. All I've said. I know you said this is not all aimed at me, but I don't think anyone here or myself has caped for him like he didn't get a fair shot here. Just saying he ain't a bum.
This will really rile up the efficiency experts: I don't think Kanter is a bum either!


@ the bolded I thought the same thing when that happened. Another thing I learned about one of my former favorite players when he came here is that he's slow. I think Rose and that Welvin dude (GOT EEEMM!!) are on the same level mentally. For real. Rose just can hoop.

If you combined Walsh's overall front office temperament with Phil's drafting...you'd still have terrible FA signings but we'd be in pretty good shape regardless. I just never forgave Walsh for bringing in Pringles to coach and never giving him a PG to work with that was better than Duhon. Dude had the 8th pick in a draft loaded with PG's, grabbed Jordan Hill.
