That is the only fact you presented. They rest was hyperbole.
Except it isn't hyperbole. Marketing has turned the tool into a status item in the end though it is still only a tool. I don't buy into that marketing. When I look at a car all I see is something I use to get where I want to go.

I'll ride my car until it breaks down on me and the repairs add up to more than the car is worth. I have a 2002 Oldsmobile my parents gave to me for free several years ago. It cost me about $570 to insure annually and that's it. I take no pride in owning a car nor do I feel any desire to go out and finance another tool to replace the one I have as it still serves it's purpose.

When I was younger and much dumber I financed a car. It was a miserable experience overall and when I totaled it and the insurance paid the loan off I decided never again. The freedom of not having those monthly payments and that insurance payment made me feel so much better than that car ever did.

A car is a tool used to travel and that's all it is. End of discussion.

If a guy walked up to you and said he'll sell you a $5 bill for $5.21 would you buy it off him? If you did would that make you a sucker?
Suddenly if some zeros get added behind the numbers it makes you less of a sucker? If he sells you $30,000 for for $31,280 aren't you not the same as a the guy that bought the $5 for $7.14? You even paid the same interest rate.

when it comes to whips, pops taught me if i cant pay to own it outright, i either cant afford it or i dont need it. save those payments for a house and other shyt that really matters.

sounds simple. and i used to hate that shyt when all i could afford was a hooptie. but it's funny how that's worked out; saving that cash when i was younger usually means i can buy what i want is ive gotten older...:banderas:

luh ya pops. :mjcry:

A car is like toilet paper. You spend money to destroy what you buy. All my car needs to do is be in good working order and get me where I'm going and back. I prefer to drive a car that I can put PLPD on and have enough cash on hand to buy a replacement if I wreck it.

I sure as hell ain't making a $400-$500 payment plus $100+ in insurance to have something I'm destroying daily and it's losing value just for it "feeling nice to have."

I'd feel bad losing that money. Think about it. It's said that a new car loses 70% of its value inside the first 4 years. Buying a new car is something only rich people should do.

Why anyone would finance something that loses 70% of its value in 4 years is beyond me. You financed 4 years of depreciation when you could have just got the 4 year old car and let someone else take that hit.
When I say this I mean new to me but used,I'd never buy brand new.My current car is 266 plus 100 for insurance...I just want a newer car with awd and decent power now.

borrowers are slaves to the lenders.

Car notes are for the birds. For most things if you gotta finance it you can't afford it.

If you break it down the minute you say you got a payment on a nice car you really lost. Got finessed. Makin someone else richer.

I agree there's no reason not to finance a more expensive car, but like you said, it's a depreciating asset.

If you get it new unless you make a good down payment you'll be under water immediately.

Sink $30k into a depreciating asset, brehs
the new car is better than having something without a warranty and running the risk of breaking down and not being able to get a rental.

Also, it's extra assurance that you're not going to have to worry about breaking down on the side of the road or having to check up under your hood for anything because your car is being financed with a warranty.

Being able to drive freely without worrying about breaking down it's the best feeling.

Cars last longer, and are better than ever. Ah a warranty. overall warranties are again a cash cow for dealers. New cars are more expensive to fix, parts are more expensive, etc. prolly got gap insurance too which is more money for them. Oh yeah registration and title fees, something you yourself can do at the dmv for a fraction of what dealers charge.

Not to mention requiring full coverage on that brand new financed car and paying higher property taxes on top of that. Nah I take fully paid used car every time.

Best feeling is having no debt owning your shyt with a healthy emergency fund and investments.

If you brehs want to take it one step further, learn how to do basic servicing/repairs/preventative maintenance on your vehicles! Will save you a lot in the long term and you can apply that knowledge in finding solid cars for future use.

No doubt. Basic stuff ain't even hard. Fluids changes are easy. And cars last longer now. YouTube makes anyone a basic mechanic.

Smh grown adults not knowing how to change a tire or do an oil change, let alone check oil and fluid levels.

Okay.

if you want to end up on the side of the road in Cali simply because you decided to take a vehicle that you recently bought from a corner store car dealer and have no idea what type of problems it may have, then fine with me.

In my opinion, certainty that you won't break down on the side of the road simply because a vehicle with a warranty or that is some what new provides you the comfortability of knowing that you're not going to break down while taking care of your daily routines which is the case with most vehicles that you get without a warranty or that is not fairly new.

Folks with good credit understand what I'm saying, however, those who have no other option but to buy a vehicle without a warranty or who are unable to finance a vehicle will not understand what I'm saying.

So continue to drive your unreliable vehicle and eventually you will understand.

Fukk that white supremist in sheep clothing.

His show always comes on while I'm driving home. Some of the good advice he gives is overshadowed by him being an undercover white supremacist like most white people giving you advice are.

Fukk him.
