Maybe serfdom won’t be as bad this time
It seems this is where we’re headed. Some companies have started building housing for their employees. Rent coming straight out of the paycheck.

Major case squad
A lot of millennials and older gen z’s prime young earning years were shyt due to the garbage economy starting around 2007. Jobs were paying shyt (and still are) or just outright weren’t hiring/laying off.

So buying 10, 20 years ago just wasn’t possible for a lot of folks. I have a great paying job now but i remember getting out of the Marines in 06 and spending majority of my 20’s and early 30’s either on unemployment from getting laid off or struggling to make ends meet. Gen X was the last generation that could actually have something for themselves

Suffered in 20s due to the shyt economy. Finally stabilized oneself financially in the 30s. But now housing is unreachable. This is a common millenial story I hear nowadays.
