Posters here use the most extreme cases. Single parent with 3 kids with their back against the ropes :skip:

Chipotle here pays like $17/hr. Even at 32 hours part time a week thats $2200 a month! For a 15-18 year old! But lets just say you were a full grown adult making that and dead set on not living with your parents (or cant), get some roommates or something damn. Majority of people just hating looking in the mirror.

Same shyt I saw in the 90s with the dudes I graduated H.S with.. They got their diploma and went to sit on the porch drinking for the duration of their lives.. "Hitting licks" and whatnot.. They're mostly still bumbs 20+ years later BTW..

These dudes mad because they probably have nothing to offer past a McDonald's entry level position.. Anyone with ambition/drive see these positions as a rung in the ladder to something better..

so are jobs not supposed to exist for the 15-20 year olds ? Everyone jsut supposed to make the same money rather 15 or 35 that is content living at the bare minimum ? No need to strive for more ? 32 hours a week (part time hours) would need to be around $15-16.

an extra $5 a hour across lets say 10 employees comes out to near $200,000 extra a year in payroll.

To scoop chicken.

We raised min wage in California and most jobs even chipotle and mcondalds now offer near $5 more hour than min wage.

Still cant find employees. The goal posts will always be moved.

the real truth is, kids just dont want to work anymore (although I do agree their should be a cap on how many orders a place should take an hour to maintain a healthy moral and workload. These places arent built for mass digital orders + being open inside, but this isnt a hourly issue, this is a logistics issue)

How exactly is this an issue only in America? If the teens don't wat to work why is this labour shortage not an issue in Europe or Asia?

This is why I stopped going to Chipotle early on, you'd stand in line for 10mins and then they'd lay a couple receipts on the counter and start making burritos in front of you like you don't exist. That place doesn't hot like it used to, and I hate when I ask my kids what they want and they say Chipotle.

same here.

With the shortage of workers these corporations need to sit down and evaluate business hours and how to help understaffed management

but it’s all about the bottom line to these motherfukkers on the golf course

How about for starters some restaurants that’s highly understaffed should open say 9 to 1 and then reopen 4 to 9 or 10… give employees time to prepare in between for online food orders

Culture differences. Americans are mostly overweight and lazy, to expand on culture differences. So much so that you cant even call a fat person fat anymore.

just a few examples. So comparing us to other places is useless.

base-pay at chipotle in austin, texas is $11/hour. :francis:

base-pay for general manager is $55,109/yr. if he was working 80 hour weeks for 52 weeks, that would be $13.25/hr.:picard:

Chipotle Salaries in Austin, TX Area

Does he qualify for OT? Just cause you make a salary doesn't necessarily mean you can't get OT. But I know nothing about Chipotle's pay practices.

So are teens or young adults not suppose to work these jobs now? Just fully moved out of parents house, irresponsible grown adults? Why would a 15-16 year old kid need a “livable” wage, while living with their parents?

what is the standard to be a chipotle worker? My chipotle looks like all young kids, why would they need a livable wage? So every single job, regardless of skill required or difficulty, or that a literal teenager can do, should have a livable wage? :skip: Even though this job should have 50-75% employees that dont actually need to live on their own ? :skip:

The kids wouldn't be working full time so they wouldn't be making a living wage. The living wage is based on hourly pay times 40 hour work week.

Just say you don't think fast food workers deserve more money.

I dont think they deserve more money.

Part time or full time, the employee still pays the same hourly rate, is what we are discussing here, no? Part time or full time has no bearing on my post.

also most kids still work 20-30 hours a week part time.
