there are over a million homeless teens in the usa, millions more teenagers have jobs to help support their family as well.

So whats the plan? Don't want to work, fine.. But please don't say the option is sitting on your a$$ doing absolutely nothing.

Online orders have made Chipotle by me ridiculous during lunch and dinner.

So many restaurants don’t know how to handle these app services. One of my favorite diners turned shyt due to poor load management. :francis:
Man the one on 125th street is fukking horrible. Some times that shyt aint even fukking open. Which sucks because chipotle is the only fast food I dont feel guilty about eating. that shyt will have me full the whole day.

From age 15-21 i worked min wage jobs(sometimes 2 at a time), while going to trade school. I built my resume up and got hired at AT&T

min wage, 17 years ago, was $6.25 when I started at Jack in The Box at 15. Jack In The Box is now offering $17.50 /hr here to get employees.

whats the inflation on $6.25/hr in 2004 to now? I can almost guarantee its not $17.50/hr.

its not a hourly issue. The goal posts will always be moved. Amazon offers $20-25/hr to start here. Still cant fill jobs.

its that with social media, kids dont want to work.
I said if it matched Americas productivity in that time. Not a 1 to 1 inflation comparison on the wage #. It's more complicated than a 1 to 1 comparison. Productivity and cost of living are major factors.

Notice when it started going the other way? Boomers have fukked America up by being the spoiled brat fukk everyone else generation. Oddly enough they try to put that on todays kids, who have to suffer through 100x the financial hardships they had too.

MINE MINE MINE has been their mantra. They don't even care what the world is like for their own grandkids.

The fact remains that 75% of these jobs are NOT staffed by teenagers.

This is the free market right? If people don't want to do the job for what they are currently offering, then clearly it is not enough to attract workers.

How else do we reverse this incredible disparity that has developed since the boomers got in charge?

These 'lazy teens' got the cheap labor industry by the balls right now, good for them.

Chipotle raising its wages from $11 to $15 a hour does not solve Americas issue of a million homeless teens.

How come 3 teens won't come together and make $45 an hour and share a place?
How do these teens help out around the house they're living in?

I dont think they deserve more money.

Part time or full time, the employee still pays the same hourly rate, is what we are discussing here, no? Part time or full time has no bearing on my post.

also most kids still work 20-30 hours a week part time.

Then why you keep bringing up living wage if you are just discussing hourly pay. People care about how many hours they get. I worked fast food long enough in all levels from entry level to GM and know it's the hours you actually get that count. What good is $30/hr if you only get 5 hours a week.

Good for this generation standing up and demanding more for their time. It quite obvious these jobs demand a higher wage for the amount of stress and labor put into them. People look down on them but in the same breathe will talk about "you couldn't pay me a million dollars to work there".

Everyone likes to think their job is the only one that deserves good wages. But look where that has got us. Slowly but surely everyone's job will be "worthless".

the fight for $15/hr started over a decade ago and when they finally got it, inflation happened as it always does and they were still getting a non-livable wage.
Right???? Real rap, the starting wage should be damn near $22. Some people are going to scoff but the fight for 15 started so long ago, inflation ate whatever gains 15 would have made in 2015 let alone 2021.

Amazon Eats and Taco Bell will be the only options. The only one who can pay you enough is Zaddy Big Bucks.

Businesses need to stop thinking about being successful and start thinking about getting by, until automation ends all this.

Each Chipotle according to google averages 400 k profit so they may have to take a l on those profits because a grown man didn't want to learn a real trade.

I notice the people who get upset about this stuff, it's not because they are against a livable wage. It's an ego thing.

It's also a convenience thing, cheap an easy is more important than human beings.

They feel they earned the right to be in a class above these workers.

If these low skill workers close the gap on their wages, then in their mind, it lessens their achievement.

I'm not as well off if you're doing better. They base how well they are doing by how big the gap is between them and others, not by if they are happy or comfortable.

It's like when people say "I'm an EMT and make 15$ an hour why should fast food workers make the same as me?"

Notice how their thought was why do fast food workers make the same as me. Not why don't I make more than fast food workers. The irony is this is the same argument the fast food workers are making. They just don't realize they are also being fukked.

People don't feel good about themselves unless they know others are doing worse, it's a sad fact.
