so are jobs not supposed to exist for the 15-20 year olds ? Everyone jsut supposed to make the same money rather 15 or 35 that is content living at the bare minimum ? No need to strive for more ? 32 hours a week (part time hours) would need to be around $15-16.

an extra $5 a hour across lets say 10 employees comes out to near $200,000 extra a year in payroll.

To scoop chicken.

We raised min wage in California and most jobs even chipotle and mcondalds now offer near $5 more hour than min wage.

Still cant find employees. The goal posts will always be moved.

the real truth is, kids just dont want to work anymore (although I do agree their should be a cap on how many orders a place should take an hour to maintain a healthy moral and workload. These places arent built for mass digital orders + being open inside, but this isnt a hourly issue, this is a logistics issue)

I’m all for paying employees more. But that rise in wages will get passed on to the consumer. That $10 burger will eventually increase to $15-$20 eventually and then we’ll see consumers vote with their wallets..:manny:

so because you endured poverty wages, you want others too as well?
full

societal progress would stagnate with that sort of mindset.
before those john deere workers recently ended their strike after coming to an agreement, they rejected the first offer that was made to them which would have ended pensions for new hires. you have to always think about the future and not just yourself.
Bro these old nikkas kill me. They worked for 5 dollars so we should lmaoo no stupid we saw what yall did and said :gucci: fukk that pay me :unimpressed: in NY no one is working for less than 17 and the minimum is 15 :stopitslime: yall better learn yall worth and stop letting these companies rape you meanwhile the ceo gets millions to sent in 7 meetings all year :hhh:

Alot of republican talking points about why the working class shouldn't make anymore money being thrown around here pretty liberally.
:mjpls:

I'll never understood OTHER working class people bootlicking the corporate elites and rich to stagnant other people's wages.

If kids in fast food and retail are making 20 bucks an hour and you are such skilled and veteran labor with a so called "good job".......then why are you not making so much more than them.....

If they make more....u should make more....pushing them down only justifies keeping your own wage lower.

I hate people who are willing to wait in ridiculously long lines for food

Go home bytch, its never that serious, line wrapping around the building like a fukkin burrito

Ill go home and eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before I wait with these mouth breathers

:beli:

facts. Its a chipotle tight by gym. If I see more than say 5 people in line I keep it moving and go home and save my time and money lol

All I know, is if u order pickup through doordash for chipotle, your order will be ready and waiting when u get there, u just pick up the bag with your name on it and wonder why the hell all these people are waiting in line. There's no markup on price, and a lot of times u can use promo codes.

The payscale as a whole needs to be brought up to date in the fast food industry, but with higher pay more is expected from u, not sure the current bunch of fast food workers in this country can handle that.

Not really my concern anymore, maybe once a month I go out to eat for lunch. Eating steak with potatoes and Mac and cheese I cooked fresh this morning. Fast food culture in America is getting insane

Where you live?

In my area, lunch and dinner rush routinely have a >1hr wait time for online orders, often more. Mob of people waiting to pickup, often angered. Lines to the door for in store orders. It’s a zoo.

doesnt matter the robots will be here soon and they will take these low paying jobs and a lot of people are fukked.
The potential effects of automation are often drowned in chicken little talk

Where are these robots? We see videos of them all the time and they do a good job of scaring nikkas but they're rarely if ever implemented. Why is that?

Automation will fast become diminishing returns when the people you're trying to sell automated services to can't afford your shyt

You think every McDonald's can afford to be automated?

Automation is quickly being exposed for the scare tactic it is. Every time workers demand better treatment the news trots out the robot vids:russell:

I tried telling a poster that a while ago and they kept insisting otherwise :mjlol:

For a lot of these franchised own chains, the ROI wouldn't be cost the price it would take to bring on full automation. Even if it was feasible, we're years away from that even being a possibility.

Hell, even AI self-driving cars have been out for years now, yet they're still struggling with even the basic of accounting for human decision making in driving.
That's why I call it the chicken little bullshyt it is:mjlol: nikkas don't think about the full scale of what they're saying

Like in 6 months every fast food restaurant is gonna have a million dollar Iron Man arm in the back making #2s:mjlol:
