Where you live?

In my area, lunch and dinner rush routinely have a >1hr wait time for online orders, often more. Mob of people waiting to pickup, often angered. Lines to the door for in store orders. It’s a zoo.
Wow that's crazy

Orlando

Chipotle got the quickest times on the app around here, 15-25 minutes delivery, less than 10 for pickup

If the technology was there and at a feasible cost, then businesses wouldn’t be out here begging for workers to come work. It would be automated instead don’t you think?

Look here… if McDonalds corp saw that it will benefit to automate 40 percent of their workforce(in certain areas) then it’s gonna happen and they will provide some type of subsidy to those selected franchisees if need be…. And it’s gonna start happening sooner than later

That’s still not as bad as the Popeyes around the corner from where I stay. They only had two employees in there and one was the manager. They both were on the verge of tears
Woulda shut down for the night.
These franchise owners gotta realize the jig is up right now on eating off low wage workers

I notice the people who get upset about this stuff, it's not because they are against a livable wage. It's an ego thing.

It's also a convenience thing, cheap an easy is more important than human beings.

They feel they earned the right to be in a class above these workers.

If these low skill workers close the gap on their wages, then in their mind, it lessens their achievement.

I'm not as well off if you're doing better. They base how well they are doing by how big the gap is between them and others, not by if they are happy or comfortable.

It's like when people say "I'm an EMT and make 15$ an hour why should fast food workers make the same as me?"

Notice how their thought was why do fast food workers make the same as me. Not why don't I make more than fast food workers. The irony is this is the same argument the fast food workers are making. They just don't realize they are also being fukked.

People don't feel good about themselves unless they know others are doing worse, it's a sad fact.

As a shareholder of Driden restaurants, I will take a little bit less. This whole philosophy that the goal of companies is to maximize shareholder wealth is one of the most absurd and irresponsible philosophies in capitalism.

Our society would be a much better place if decisions were made with all stakeholders in mind. That’s why I dig the German model. The board is made up of both shareholder reps and and Labor reps.
Other countries have a brain, our leaders don't

Alot of republican talking points about why the working class shouldn't make anymore money being thrown around here pretty liberally.
:mjpls:

I'll never understand OTHER working class people bootlicking the corporate elites and rich to stagnant other people's wages.

If kids in fast food and retail are making 20 bucks an hour and you are such skilled and veteran labor with a so called "good job".......then why are you not making so much more than them.....

If they make more....u should make more....pushing them down only justifies keeping your own wage lower.
Some of these brehs are really subservient. They really don't want someone at McDonald's having a similar life to them but they want McDonald's to exist. They would rather keep another worker down than ask more from their boss.

I just had to come back here because this shyt has me ready to rant like noooo tomorrow.

Dig this. I dont feel sorry for these folks one bit. You know how many fukking times it was busy and we got paid minimum wage. We basically worked through everything. The raise would be 15 fukking cents. If anything, that shyt motivated me, made me humble and saw that shyt for what it is.

Hell, even this whole quitting your job makes me sick because i remember when i did the same exact shyt these folks did and I WAS STRUGGLING TO FIND WORK. As i said, im living or have lived the life that a lot of these guys are speaking about but either didnt live that shyt or they forgot where they came from. Either way, real heads know what that struggle life is like and theres folks going through way worse than these fools who are chose to do that shyt and are quitting.

shyt should motivate you to want or go for better but folks dont see it that way. Youre supposed to work there and find a better job IF you can but that shyt is temporary. All im gonna say is just be real because its a cold world out here. Be ready to freeze if you dont have a safety net
I don’t understand this mindset

What do you gain by looking down on people as if you don’t benefit or partake in the places they do service in?

I remember when that one billionaire in Seattle gave everyone In his company a living wage.

everyone from the janitor and front desk on up.

He said folks in middle and upper management at the company were FURIOUS even tho they STILL made more than them.

His brother ended up trying to take the company from him even though profits were raising for the company during that span.

people want to feel better than other people and don’t really want the wealth gap closed. We love the billionaires who shyt on us because we want to be them, and are cool as long as there are “others” we can look down on.
