depends.

obviously people can't give up their rights. but we need a plan because atlanta can't be the only safe black city.
what's the worst possible scenario you could think of for stop and frisk and what would that mean for you as a black man?

trump sending more funds to police to buy apcs and that money will be used for more stop and frisk.
So assuming they go full blown with stop and frisk what does that mean for you as a black man. How often do you believe it will effect you. How will it make things worse.

Have you ever experienced it first hand before?

Almost every time. Have to watch your back, be super nice, don't go out alone, etc.

But to be honest, I have no first hand experience. I have only even gotten a parking ticket. I get why some are scared, but they supported someone who wasn't going to change anything in Clinton.

This whole 'not change anything' is such a flawed argument, and a dangerously ignorant stance.....I'm so sick of hearing it. Things can change for the WORSE.....Assume you believe things are 'bad' now, qualify however you want, police shootings, mass incarceration, private prisons, structural racism in the judicial branch as a whole.....they will be much worst under this new admin, without a doubt. Not even considering that social programs that people really need are going to be slashed....welfare, food stamps, Planned Parenthood, equal opportunity housing, then add in their stance on law enforcement, which is hard line policing and severe crackdowns on 'urban areas', means more people in prison, generations set back.

Uncertain grounds
Where are you getting this idea that a significant number of Trump voters were Obama voters? I'm gonna need some evidence because otherwise I'm calling :duck: .

The right just had their base much more motivated, they didn't change anybody's minds. I'd bet anything 90%+ of Trump voters either voted Republican or didn't vote at all when Obama ran.

I voted for Obama twice :manny:

This whole thread is based on faulty assumptions and wishful thinking.

So because (1) voter turnout was low, (2) Trump did about the same with minorities as Romney, and (3) certain counties that voted for Obama twice went for Trump, that it's really all about the economy? That there are actually voters---not just counties and abstract geographic areas, but voters----who pulled the lever for Obama twice, but decided to vote for Trump because they had strong opinions about NAFTA? Nope. I'm calling bullshyt.

Counties in Wisconsin, Iowa, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, upstate NY flipped by 10, 15, upwards of 35%

In Wisconsin exit polls showed the same turnout for union workers as the past election, they went 30+% for Obama in 2012 and only +10% for Clinton

It's a virtual mathematic impossibility that Trump didn't get a significant amount of Obama voters in these states
