A credit card should not be used for emergencies. It's a trap to stay in debt.

The unfortunate part is most of us aren’t in a position to use our cash flow to leverage what we would use our credit score for, credit only matters if you are cash flow poor, because if your money long enough they will have a black Amex at your doorstep regardless of their credit, not saying folks don’t grind up to one, and credit ain’t important but your availability of funds will trump that

Financing shyt period is some bullshyt.

It usually comes with a bank or financial institution charging interest. Even low rates at like 3-4 percent or less you are paying hundreds if not thousands.

Those credit cards come with all types of shyt to lure people in like no interest for the first 6 months to a year to get you comfortable then they start taxing your azz.

With the exception of automobiles and immovables like houses and property try to pay in cash if you can and stay away from financing shyt, it’s just a scam for people to be able to make money off you not being able to pay in full.

Credit cards can be used for emergencies if you have the cash but you’re not that liquid so you use the card to pay it and get the funds later

I use CCs for everything. It's actually more secure than your debit card and u get cash back and points for almost everything.

For money savvy people who have financial discipline and good savings, it's a great tool.

I treat it like a debit card and pay back almost immediately.

Credit score is great because of it sees my activity as low utilization aka not carrying much debt

Credit cards (with rewards) are a life cheat code if you use them like a debit card, meaning you only swipe if you have the cash/funds in your bank account to pay it off right then and there.

Never carry a balance, always pay it off at the end of the month, and you'll get cash back/gifts and raise your credit so you can get the best rates when it comes time to get a mortgage, refinance, or get a car loan.

Just have to have some discipline and treat it the same way you use your debit card. Don't buy shyt that you couldn't buy with your debit card.

I opened a new card in March just for the $200 signup bonus. I used the card just for groceries that I as already going to buy, paid it off right then and there, and then put the card away. Free $200:yeshrug:
Lol you on that Chase Freedom wave breh?
Just got my $200 bonus. Basically got a new macbook, already discounted for another $200 cheaper.

Can be a trap. But you can pimp the hell outta the right cards if you have the cash to pay for what you put on the credit cards.

Exclusively use credit cards for everything...get free flights, food, benefits, and cash back. I pay them off weekly or monthly.

Different strokes for different folks
This, just ran about $6k through my platinum card this month for the free 100k bonus points. Paid for the hotel for our winter vacation to Mexico :wow:

10x on gas and groceries too for another 4 months :wow:

You should be paying shyt you have to pay for monthly on your credit card.. Phone bill cable gas whatever. Then pay the bill monthly. Using your credit is good. It is not good to by shyt you want and to use credit like layaway.

People got it wrong.

Use your credit card for everything and only use your debit card to pay off your credit card.

Why?

Security. If someone obtained your debit card info you lose your cash. If they get your CC # you claim fraud and they'll get you your money back.

Plus like they said... rewards

You can claim the same on a debit card though.

That's what's up! Yeah I do. It's in my portfolio. I have about 14 cards and get and new one for any major purchase if they have a dope points/cash back.

Next ones will probably be Chase sapphire and Amex Platinum. Due to my work the benefits of these I kind of already have, which is why I haven't pulled the trigger one these. I'd get em more just to add to the collection I lol
