Whats funny is the original was just a paint by numbers sitcom with Denise at college. Probably doesnt become the classic we remember if she doesn't get pregnant. They were forced to pivot. It wouldve actually been more interesting to see Theo at Hillman. It seems like they tried to address your concern with the last 2 seasons of Grownish.

This is going to cater to black women by making them the more competent characters. Have the lead black girl be a dyke and/or fukk with a white boy. Her roomate gonna be a gender fluid, bell hooks quoting, septum ring wearing chick...and the men gonna be comic relief.

I dont think they know how to write young Black Male characters that aren't Comedians. Like they always have to be the funny guy or paired with the funny guy lol.
