The HBCUs need a boost now more than ever like Cosby gave them in the 1980s that probably literally saved many of them. With the current environment this would be the perfect time for a story told right.

The biggest issue with these shows is they always gear it towards a younger audience with new characters instead of more of the original characters lives. I only saw the first season of the revival to Roseanne/ The Conners, but they seemed like the only ones that concentrated primarily on the old characters. That’s probably why they had another long run.

The Conners are a family so its easy to do it like that. Its harder to do that with the college experience. People that went to college together 35 years ago usually arent around each other like that in their 50s. Now you can easily have members of the old cast as faculty but if we keepin it real there is only so much you can do with that and then you get into availability/willingness of the cast members. In a show about college you are gonna have to incorporate young people.
