So you're saying schools shouldn't compete for students? Pretty sure they've been doing that here since 1700's.

If it jacks up prices to unattainable levels, then the government gotta step in

Its designed that way. They would like women to keep getting those worthless ass degrees creating more debt. A lot of the issues the college have are because of the culture they created there. shyt is ultra feminist. Men bad, women good. And because SHE feels like it true it is true. Young Dudes are opting out. Plus like someone said they see it as a scam.
It’s a confusing time to be a man. Especially if you grew up being indoctrinated by social media and entertainment. When my generation was growing up there was so much focus on girls/women’s development and negative messaging around masculinity that I think younger guys have absorbed that into their subconscious. So they’re having a hard time with coping with reality and society’s mixed messaging.

And the easiest thing is to quit/retreat. If women are leaning in, men are leaning out.
And there it is......

You guys also need to take into account that alot of people don't wanna do that trade shyt.
The HVAC guy my parents hired last year had to clean out dead bats from their heater. thats nasty
Plumbers are snaking drains full of strangers pubic hair and emptying sewage lines, thats nasty
I might not want to sit in a truck cab all by myself for a whole day, or be out in the sun in 100 degree weather for a construction project.
alot of these trade pay well because they are less desirable to people at large. Maybe i want to just sit in an office drinking iced coffee and posting on the coli all day.

I mean that's perfectly fine, just don't complain when about student loan debt and not being able to make a decent living then. My mama told me at a young age 'I done hated every job I ever had in my life, I don’t work for fulfillment, I work to fill my belly. Get your fulfillment in your free time.' :yeshrug:

The fact that college continues to cost what it costs is why I had little faith of the student loan forgiveness crap that was going on last year. That crap never addressed the issue in the first place: The availability of student loans and its role of causing tuition to rise exponentially over the last 30 years.

Take the for-profit witch hunt from a few years back. The government took away student loans from those schools for one year and they all basically went insolvent within the year. I’m certain wholesale changes will happen to the college and university system if the government reduced their lending by just 30%. Schools closing, schools restructuring their programs immensely, schools being much more competitive (and lowering their prices). Right now they have no incentive to because it has been pretty much been open season on loans with the students ultimately holding the bag.
Now this is a reasonable take I can agree with. However, you'd have people claiming that they can't get into college without the loans. So do you let the banks become more restrictive on their lending? :francis:

Where in America are these non-college educated "leaders" you speak of?

They are called entrepreneurs and they are all over America

Notice Arabs don't complain about college, their kids don't have to go to college if they don't want or can't hack it, they gotta job waiting for them running a gas station or corner store, which one day they will own

Chinese people HIRE their less educated to work at the FAMILY business, they employ their unemployable, that's why you don't see a bunch of homeless asians all over America

Bill Gates DROPPED out of college

What rock have you been living under

Maybe they will. But one thing they aren't going to do is stop schools from competing for students. Every school wants the best students for their target audience. The better outcomes they have in life, the more they give back to the school.

Banks assess the risk with a person when it comes to housing, business and vehicles. They'd do the same with education. If you pick something with a poor ROI, your risk becomes that much more and you'll likely have a higher interest rate as opposed to someone who goes into something more in-demand. Colleges would be forced to drop their sticker price if the government got out of education at the college level.

50% of small businesses fail within 5 years. And just about half of entrepreneurs are college educated in the first place.

There's only one Bill Gates. Most of the billionaires in this country are college educated. Making him an example is silly.

Bill gates dropped out of harvard. Clearly he isn’t representative of most people. Most of us couldn’t get admitted there in the first place

Eh, but now you're forcing people to do things they don't want. I'm not a fan of cutting liberal arts departments just because they don't produce a high ROI like STEM does. Those subjects are needed in a complete society.

I've worked with engineers that can barely form complete sentences. Not good. :francis:

Reality check

most people fail period

Most people who go college fail they don't do amount to shyt

most people with degrees can't get jobs

Leaders don't care about that shyt, they get it done, they find a way to wind

Your first business will fail, that's why the 50 percent number is there, that doesn't mean you quit and don't try again

thats the difference between a fukking school boy

I’ll leave this here for the youngsters. The old heads already made their decision.

Neither do I. Colleges aren't trade schools.

Ft. Stewart, Ga
K-12 has been centered on girls since the 90s

Also, There is way more pressure on young men to have money, his own place, a car ect right out of High School. Many will chose the work force over college, avoiding debt for a degree which may be worthless outside of STEM.

But No one will judge a young woman for being a broke college student.

Most people might fail, but all statistics point to you being better off failing with a college degree than not.

See @Robbie3000 post. Most people with degrees can get jobs. Stop lying. :mjlol:
