I hate that young men are giving up on school, but I can understand why. The costs are outrageous, and for some it just doesn’t make sense. I thank God I had my father to pay my first years tuition, but even with that, I still ended up with 35k of debt. Included in that 35k is my Masters in the STEM field and honestly, if I could go back I wouldn’t have even gotten it.

Working in STEM, black men are underrepresented as is. We need more of us. Burns my soul when I’m in these management meetings, and I don’t see other black faces. Whole production floor is black, yet it doesn’t reflect in management.

You cant project cac issues on the black race @Rell Lauren

Why cacs don't go to school and why young black men don't go to school lie in two completely different reasons.

:stopitslime: WTF are you talking about? On this forum, the black sector of YouTube, & on Black Twitter; BW outnumbering BM in college has always been a talking point, not to mention the whole "BW are the most educated demographic in this country" trope.

Even if this article is just about WM, than it sounds like WM are catching up to BM.

not really..... and white people's problems eventually become our problems
It's the other way around.

I highly doubt those trade workers that you speak of started out at 300k though…
:comeon:

They didn't, but what job pays any worker 300k a year no matter how long they've been there?

The average salary in America is between 40-60k a year.

Most company executives don't make that. Buffet, Gates, Musk and Zuckerberg are owners and exceptions the rule. Furthermore, they didn't graduate college.

There's no Dynano's up from Production that made it to management? It's infrequent but usually good people do get to the C- suite from entry level and thee's mentoring programs to educate the right people. For there to be zero representation of people who got promoted means that HR is fukking up.

If you say so, it's not easy, just these corporate jobs you mention are like only 5 percent of the population, and its still a job they working for the share holders of the company who sit on their ass all day and do nothing and don't have any of their education

IN the AMC thread I done told people step by step instructions on how to avoid capital gain taxes, I never learned how to do this in any school, I learned through experience in life by actually being in the world competing and doing business

What have you done help anyone, can you help anyone

This is the most college educated generation of black people EVER, and they own the least, black people had more businesses and owned more shyt during segregation then nikkaz do today

THATS THE TRUTH

all you doing is talking down on people, talking down on black people, with zero answers, zero insight, zero ability to provide anything

you're a coward

Lower the tuition rates. Problem solved. Bernie Sanders can school you on that.

Carry on :hubie:

I think College needs to go back to being an elite training pool again. These underwater basketweaving degrees are subsidizing rich kids that are groomed to take over at daddy's company. There's no way Starbuck's barristas should be college graduates. The average person is good with a community college degree and Community colleges tend to follow what industry wants very closely. I'm a college graduate yet I had to be sent to a community college to get a certificate for two different jobs that I held.

Which Branch? I consider going to the dark side and applying for OCS but I figured I'd make a terrible officer.

Air force and dont worry about being a terrible officer.....In the AF youre supposed to be a terrible officer until at least your 3rd year as a captain

I will say the Army doesnt play with officers tho. You better have good organization skills and know how to manage programs and procure assets. The Army might be full of fukk shyt but they churn out good Officers imo.

Yes from what I understand a lot of what makes an Air Force dude a Commissioned Officer would be done by Army Warrant Officers (which I also considered being)

People say this like trade school isn’t expensive. There ain’t no “most circumstances” about it. Most people aren’t built to work a trade. Let people do what they want and make it affordable. Simple as that. Makes more sense than trying to push people into professions they have no passion for and won’t be good at. Some things will pay more than others, oh well. Let people make that choice too.

FYI, in most places in America, the top 20 percent highest warning people are college educated.

they say trade school like it’s a cheat or shortcut

And 18 year olds are not deciding against college due to the cost of school.

Like I said coward

We talking about two different things, making two different points, and you know that

Black people believed in college, did all that shyt, it didn't change anything

Black people are more college educated now that at any point in history in this country, yet it has changed nothing

the definition of insanity is doing the same thing expecting different results

Just saying go to college and get a degree, isn't going to cut it

You still going out applying for jobs to people who don't want to hire your black ass

Master P started his own car company with the black man who designed the Tesla, but gets zero credit, none of the financial gains of Elon Musk, one because Tesla isn't a profitable company, it's value only comes from its stock price, and they've been running of government grants, I mean if I can run a business of the government's dime, I would look like a genius too

HOME - (trionsupercars.com)

Because a black man decided to make something, this brother who designed the Tesla got his own company, where he was previously out of work, Master P is not a ivy league nikka, he just a leader, and a visionary that's it

That's leadership

IF nikkaz ain't building nothing, what's it gonna be for all these nikkaz with degrees and education to do, they either gonna end up giving all their ideas to a white person and get cast to the side like this brother was by Elon, or not even getting hired at all

Nah college is important in this society simply because we live in a democratic Republic that needs its population to be educated.

Without a population that's has some education, you run the risk of having a bunch of zealots falling for wild conspiracy theories and joining cults.
ALSO you would have more crooks and swindlers in positions of power.

(I mean, there's already a lot of crooks in politics but that's another topic)

Not saying everybody who has not gone to college is a naive simpleton, but generally the poor, uneducated and unskilled are the ones that get taken advantage of.

The problem is that these schools jacked their prices up due to availability of federal aid.

Plus, gone are the days where right after you graduate you were garunteed a middle management job paying 45-60k just by having any degree. There's too much competition.

Tuition is way too damn high for real.

All in all, people need to combine education with vocation.

Going to college does not mean you are educated.
