The issue is that his team has repeatedly said they don't want him gaining weight tho.

I think his shot is the least of his issues. His rebounding seemed weirdly not great, his height was a hindrance to his handles, and his motor was off, along with conditioning.

Now these can all be fixed eventually, but we say the same chit about all the big men and for a lot of them it never materializes

His shot has always been pretty below average from 3 and the parts of his game that had people drooling was the thinking his shot was KD and he can handle the rock like a wing.

He's 7'4" and 210lbs, he has to gain weight even just through natural body maturity (yeah, Manute Bol begs to differ but even Bol Bol is 220lbs and he's shorter than Wemby). KD is the "Slim Reaper" and he's at least 25-30lbs heavier at over four inches shorter. I have a hard time believing that Wemby is gonna play at anything less than 230lbs, and he'll be faster at that weight than he is now too.

What you say about his height being a hinderance to his handles is one of the main reasons that I feel the hype on him was overblown. If you're 7'4" then you can surprise guys and make plays with your handles, but that's never going to be how you dominate. At best, it's a nice counter that keeps the defense honest. For him to become a great player at 7'4", what he has to be great at is defense, rebounding, shooting over defenders, finishing, and court vision. Do those at an elite level and the sky is the limit. Ballhandling is a supplemental skill, it's not the game.

Now, does Wemby have the defense and shooting and vision to become a GOAT? Clearly not yet. But you also can't say that he won't have those things. And that's why his ceiling is so high.

He blocked five shots despite his weak frame and "slowness" and had plays like this:

If he had hit 7-13 shooting and scored 21 points instead of 9, the takes here would be completely different.

And he doesn't need to be stronger and faster in a couple of months, he's just 19. Tim Duncan and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar started their GOAT careers at 21/22. He has at least 3-4 years to continue building muscle on that frame before you can even begin to suggest that he's never gonna have it.

VW is so good I’m watching highlights of these other spurs like who the fukk Blake Wesley :ohhh:

It's not hate Scoot is way better him it's obvious.

The number 4 pick looked good as well.
Scoot is not better than Miller. Scoot benefited from being able to dominate the ball

Miller was actually playing team ball and trying to find his open teammates everytime. We already know Miller is going to put up points.

Will Scoot be able to shoot a respectable % from 3 and have NBA defenses not guard him like Westbrook. Can he stay healthy?

Nah people have def been hating like he’s gonna be a bust. People talk in definitives way too much about him vs Scoot. Brandon miller isn’t MKG. He can easily be better than Scoot. Not saying it definitively but he’s a great prospect in his own right. nikkas take to Scoot love then do too much

I’m disappointed in his functional strength. I knew he was lanky but he’s a lot weaker than I thought he’d be. Was falling to the ground on minimal contact. I knew his jumper was a work in progress. He’s more mobile than KP when he came out but he KP was definitely a better shooter and could hold his ground better

I feel like Vic offense game will be more like minnesota K.G. then KD

Wembanyama will shoot more 3's where's K.G. shot long two's you will also see wemby's ballhandling and perimeter shot creation in mismatch's like K.G. but not to to the level of seven foot + guard like Durant

Secondly, the media and hype-crazed fans gassed him up a little too much and you can tell he thought coming into the league that he'd dominate with ease...lol Summer league or not, he's playing against real competition now

Where you get that from ?

I love Doris she’s one of the best broadcasters on tv… routinely the people with the most garbage basketball insights and “undisputed” on their tv favorites list don’t like hearing hearing her content :mjlol:
