That’s really the thing about it. Neither has considerably differentiated themselves because there’s not that much difference between the two. But logically Lonzo should start — younger, more invested in him, has a higher ceiling (we already know what Rondo is, Zo is still improving), a better defender at this point. If Ball was aggressive though there wouldn’t even be a discussion, he’d clearly be the better player.
Trade away your 21 year old #2 overal draft pick for a 33 year old 1 year rental who’s been on 6 teams in 4 years ......nikkaS GOT IT TWISTED.
RONDO DIDNT SIGN TO COME OFF THE BENCH.
ZO WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TRADED OVER THE SUMMER.

Keep in mind it's his second year and his rookie year, and beginning of his sophomore year, has been somewhat injury plagued. He has top level court vision. He's extremely unselfish and keeps the ball moving. He doesn't seem to create conflict with teammates. He's a very good defender already, makes quick decisions, seems to have a sixth sense for what the next play should be. He's taller than pretty much everyone else at his position, and is a GREAT rebounder for his position. Lonzo has plenty of great qualities. What is zo? A 6’7 pg with no quick twitch muscle. I just don’t see the upside with him unless he starts posting up more

Lakers tried to get Rondo last season to mentor Zo, according to Rondo and Magic before he signed with the Pelicans.
