So the gay and woman led LGBT movement getting "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" overturned, marriage equality and changing the perception of gays and trans people in the popular consciousness in less than 25 years was a fail? :jbhmm:

Stuff like that worked because white gays have concentrated economic power and the also have power and influence over the entertainment/news industry. Black gays and white gays operate on two different axis.

Lesbians have been trying this stuff since the 50s

they only got shyt done when gay men got interested in the movement :yeshrug:

women are good at pointing out problems, men are good at solving them

This is a very Eurocentric mindset. It's tons of great bw leaders and warriors past & present. I ain't with ya'll shyt if you nikkas excluding women. Most of ya'll nikkas can't even fit into Assata Shakur, Harriet Tubman, Queen nzinga or Angela Davis's shoes as a example.
See how u remember them but noone mentions men like. Nat Tuner who led a rebellion.. Smh.. But cook..

this is true...still contrary to the OP's point. Stop getting caught up on the "who" so much..

Are they down for black people and or are black? Yes? Then shut the fukk up about it because I don't see no "regular" nikkas out here trying to organize marches and write no manifestos.

Just staying. This is why we can't operate like we used to collectively, who someone is fukking should have no bearing on how passionate they are about black people. The Montgomery Bus Boycott and the Civil Rights Movement coulda have been very different had MLK not met Bayard Rustin, a gay man, and studied/implemented non-violent resistance strategies.

You are arguing the wrong point. The title of the tread is what i was addressing...I'm mearly saying that is not a metric by which to measure the success or failure of a movement. If any of this shyt is to work you are going to need men and women and yes, some of them will be gay. No need to alienate a segment of our OWN people.

And the gays and women IN the media were the ones to initiate it. Nothing happens in a vacuum.
Ehh I guess. If getting/being the chance to use govt's propaganda tool to proport homosexuality to the masses is some sort of big win to you then :manny:To me the result is credited more to agenda than activism
