My *ahem* friend got hemmed up in Maryland on the same charges on a couple occasions. Hired a lawyer and beat the case both times. But my *ahem* friend was wise enough to make it crystal clear to the arresting officers that he doesn't consent to a search of his person, property or vehicle, then fully evoked his 5th ammendment rights and said nothing further. I would hire a lawyer and fight it. Hopefully you didn't say nothing stupid to the officers (as far as admitting guilt) or was caught on dash cam or recorder copping to the burner or giving them consent to search your shyt. But the outcome depends on the particulars of the case. But even if you're found guilty. It's just a misdemeanor, and you said it's your 1st offense, so a guilty verdict will probably result in a suspended sentence, probation and a fine/community service.
