This dude just said, 'we press play, don't press pause' :stopitslime:

I'm not even attacking the subject matter but lyrically this dudes corn levels are of a level I've never witnessed before. They're actually worse than some of those foreign accents Eminem did

:russ: he said that? Between this and "IN third grade, I thought that I was gay" it's a hilarious fukking song

Hip-Hop hasn't been about that in AT LEAST a decade or longer, get real.

Then what has hip hop been about for the last decade?

Notice I said hip hop, not rap music. That's where you nikkas start to get shyt confused, but i'll play devils advocate here and see if you can actually tell me what "hip hop" has been about in the last decade.

If you're gonna say swag, materialism, and a bunch of other shyt that has to do with what type of subject matter is the norm within the actual songs then you can just miss me with your argument.

If you support this CAC's gay agenda, fine...but don't try to sell nikkas a pile of shyt and call it sugar.

The "gay agenda" isn't his, and it's not an agenda, it's one of many perspectives on the topic at hand, one that is probably one of the last taboos in hip hop. Regardless of how afraid somebody is that they'd suck a dikk if somebody put one in their face...this discussion is relevant.

kanye has been preaching against homophobia for a while as well.

In interviews....one for sure. Yet for all the looking, acting and whining like a fakkit he's said nothing about actual homosexuals in a song.

He saves all of his bravery and cutting edge genius for biting and repackaging other peoples music.

:smugbiden:

Same rules apply to pedo's ? :umad:

You mean like the ones in the bible?

Engage in incestuous pedophilia brehs.

:blessed:

Lol a white boy speaking some of the realest/most prevelant issues going in society today and dudes getting maaaad. This is hilarious

I'm not mad, I just feel like he is telegraphing this type of shyt, it looks too deliberte to me, but then that's just my perception at the moment. It also doesn't help that he's fukking wack, and will really only be getting burn because of what he talks about rather than a combination of how good he's at of getting it across.

Like I said...don't be surprised if this clown starts talking about the ocean, and saving the bee's and shyt, after the gays get straight (don't ask me how) he'll become the environmental rapper.

Too bad we don't have more of this....

You don't have to have the same singles
to fit into the same sub-genre of Hip Hop.
Macklemore, Kendrick and J. Cole are all alternative
Hip Hop artists and what separates them for the most part
is based on perception. Even then Murs did it beforehand and
has been a staple in the underground for over a decade and yet it's
Macklemore that's being pushed as progressive, different
and thus better.

I don't see how the non Hip-Hop fans would remind
you of Kanye west stans because Macklemore isn't fusing Hip Hop with
another genre, he's just making Hip Hop music.
And even then Kanye West doesn't "bite" different styles he
incorporates them into his genre.
What he's doing is no different than what artists do in other genre's.
Christian Scott for example is a jazz trumpter who's known to throw in Hip Hop and Rock while still keeping his music overall Jazz.
Metal bands like Meshugga have managed to incorporate Jazz into their sound while still keeping what makes metal music, metal music.

In Hip Hop you're pretty much encouraged to emulate those before
you so I'm not surprised that a lot of people are turned off by the
idea of introducing a new sound (or reintroducing it in Kanye's case).

As for people being ignorant, to be ignorant to something initially is what I expect, staying ignorant ON PURPOSE however.......
Macklemore is getting props/attention for being the first mainstream relevant hiphop artist to put out a pro gay rights single, that is progressive, why are you mad?

No. Kendrick & Cole are not being ignored, GKMC is the most d!ckrode album since MBDTF. I can't even tell you Macklemores album name. You're points are all over the place i don't even think you know what you're arguing about. You seem to think Mac is getting some undeserved props while others in his sub genre are ignored, thats not the case. You're mad that some dumb 13 year old becky from seatle likes macklemore but isnt checking for kendrick like shanesha from compton who likes kendrick & doesn't care for macklemore doesn't exist. Being in the same sub genre doesn't mean nothing, there's plenty of people like me who grew up listening to beans but think meek mill is trash for whatever reason.

Nah I know what I'm arguing about.
All my points relate. I spoke on new fans, their tastes in music,
their overall understanding of Hip Hop and ultimately
what they see it as, this is all spoken on in
my initial post.
You completely dismissed everything I said
and I personally think it's because you didn't get it.
:yeshrug:

I think a mediocre rapper is being hyped largely
for his content and not his ability to rap and because of this
more skillful and deserving rappers are looked over.
I fail to see how you're struggling with this.

Common did a better job of tackling this subject on "Between Me You and Liberation". Still, a song against homophobia by a CAC isnt the worst thing in the world even if it is quite corny in its execution.

Wait till Macklemore wins the Grammy next year tho....
