alotta rappers were on that vibe in the 90s.

"i'd rather be broke & have a whole lot of respect"- oc

"some fake the funk & main source knows it/how do i know, cause mtv shows it"- erick sermon

"i got beef with commercial ass ninjas with gold teeth"- raekwon

but backpackers took it too far & made rap less fun

How can it be his debut when he has never been more hands off on any project as much as yeezus? Songs written and composed and produced by others... Kanye was like a performer only on that record and in rap it just doesn't work to rap someone else's words I mean its like having a conversation and just being a mouth piece.

The project was a collaborative process, this was known before the album was released. Theres articles detailing and interviewing the people involved with helping during the creating process. Kanye is still the head director and the vision is entirely his at the end of it, it seems youre trying to minimize his contributions when your wrong entirely

"Blood on the Leaves" is a crazy-ass song. That's the Kanye West genius right there: Only he would think that "Strange Fruit" was missing a HudMo beat, and that the HudMo beat was missing "Strange Fruit". [laughs] When I heard that, I was jumping on nikkas' backs and shyt, like, "Ahhhh!"

"Everything is him, to be real. Regardless of who additionally produced things, it's his curation. And this idea that he's not as hands-on in the studio now is bullshyt. He is the consummate producer. "

You can read the article about the albums sessions here

kurt was like that..

kurt cobain was punk. Nirvana's considered grunge or whatever, but Nirvana in terms of ethics and where they came from.. they were punk.. they were born out of the Seattle punk scene.

kurt hated Smells Like Teen spirit and the attention and the type of fans it brought the band. he didn't give a shyt about the money.

"If you're a sexist, racist, homophobe, or basically an a$$hole, don't buy this CD. I don't care if you like me, I hate you."

"If you're a sexist, racist, homophobe, or basically an a$$hole, don't buy this CD. I don't care if you like me, I hate you."

Did Kurt actually say this? If so, I got to do some real research on this guy; that's a hell of a statement.

Nevermind was the perfect storm. A lot of shyt came together and like someone said with light in the bulb, it lit up and revived the whole rock scene (of course there were other bands that was still mainstream and respected)

And why are some of yall in here talking about Yeezus? It's only magazines like Pitchfork (which is the magazine that fake the funk the most) that is hyping that album up. And that is what hurting Kanue, he carss too much about reviews and getting that hipster props, just like Jay, for him to be considered innovative

yes, apparently he said it at a concert, too.

he also wrote it in, in other words in the liner notes of Incesticide

"At this point I have a request for our fans. If any of you in any way hate homosexuals, people of different color, or women, please do this one favor for us - leave us the fukk alone! Don't come to our shows and don't buy our record"
