I don't personally see the resemblance, but I'm not going to complain if he does.

Having said that, dude did an entire interview, talked about Drake multiple times, Drake vs Meek specifically....and didn't say jack shyt about Drake not writing his own lyrics.

Then again it's Complex and A-Trak is from Canada so :manny: not like it's surprising.

Fred.
A-Trak is also Jewish and well connected in the industry. I'll leave it at that...

First 5 Tracks on the album are basically reworks of this

Frankly, the most important thing A-Kak said in this article is this:

On stan culture taking over the year:
One thing that worries me is this "stan culture." No disrespect to my friend, but the Yeezys are the quintessential example of stan culture. They became this sort of necessary item. There’s such an army of fans that wants to be like DONDA and Travis Scott, and follow the whole crew on Instagram. Those are my friends and this isn’t against them, but the level of stanning that these kids follow make a lot of people just carbon copies of other people. Hip-hop was always about individuality. It’s supposed to be a subversive culture, a culture where you grab something and flip it around and use it in another way. In this Instagram culture, there’s too many kids who forget they’re supposed to add their own twist.

This lack of individuality is THE BIGGEST problem in modern hip hop. That's what us 'old heads' complain about, and we're right. But you youngins deflect and bytch, call us flabby when in fact y'all are arriving late to a beautiful culture and you didn't get the memo.

But of course, the Coli has a hard-on for anything Drake so that's what we'll focus on.

The fukk does that even mean?

It means nobody on The Coli gives a fukk about DJing, until a guy does an interview about Drake. Or did you not notice the complete lack of DJ threads?

Hell, the average hip-hop fan didn't give a fukk about DJing in '97 either.

So it's kinda silly to pull that out as a reason why we should listen to this guy.

i mean, i don't agree but he actually gave a reason for his thinking unlike some people do but that shyt just reads crazy.

:russ:

A-Trak and his brother Dave from Chromeo's knowledge would probably put a lot of guys like say a Rosenberg to shame though.

Why do you think that is, anyway? Just because everything was already on that glossy shyt. And glossy and scratching don't go together, right?

Possibly.

But my main point is I vaguely knew who A-Trak was prior to Ye, solely because I was a fan of a few underground acts in the 90's.

But if you look at the second half of the 90's....Wu, BONE, Outkast, DMX, Master P....I mean....you know who was making noise.

Meanwhile A-Trak was hanging out with Non-Phixion and Peanutbutter Wolf. :dahell:

The funny thing is I don't even mean to diss A-Trak, but it's funny how this hip-hop shyt only matters if it props up an artist people stan. Like when Premiere said Drake was a great lyricist. They couldn't make that thread fast enough. Did they mention Premiere prior to that? fukk no. Did they make a thread after the ghostwriting shyt, when Premiere said Drake is Milli Vanilli if he don't write his own shyt? Of course not.

It's more about how disingenuous people are, than A-Trak or even DJing specifically.

Turntablism was also kinda given up to asians and white brehs after cooler shyt was discovered...plus it's very expensive.
I used to watch all the DMC vids, Kodh, A-trak...etc.
That shyt is an afterthought to me now, breh. This changed everything.
