Reads like she went to the front of the line, but had normal vitals. You go back to waiting for admittance because most cardiac events aren’t subtle and any acute infarction or arrhythmia is seen on an ekg, and if you’re walking around with 98 o2 saturation and normal blood pressure and ekg you’re chest pains will be viewed as something innocuous like heartburn or angina rather than a life or death situation. I’ve been to ERs for heart issues and been sent back to waiting rooms because my heartbeats per minute and ekg weren’t showing risk. Other times I had a very high heartbeats per minute and abnormal ekg and was immediately admitted. The pulse oximeter readings and ekg are what they base urgency on. It is what it is.

That's the thing, I don't expect the doctors to do their job. These hospitals are not only overcrowded, but often racist against blacks. Why depend on them when you can place matters in your own hands and lead an active life style? As I said before this can happen to anybody no matter the weight, but you obviously more at risk when you're overweigh.

We need to take care of ourselves better so less of us have to depend on these institutions. Things will not get better for us anytime soon, so we need to take matters in our own hands.

I totally agree..

But until people get their health issues together, those hired to do a job are supposed to perform..

Hospitals have a protocol book.. Instances like this gets top priority because of liability issues..

So had she died in the back being worked on is one thing. But to be turned away.:what:

Her family about to get a check due to unfortunate circumstances..

I understand this can happen to anybody, but we need to get our health together. How can you say you don't trust white doctors while letting yourself get that big? If we took care of ourselves we wouldn't have to depend on racist institutions. We need to stay away from the hospital as much as possible until we find blacks that can help us.
shut the fukk up you loser she’s already dead and the enlarged heart was from a miscarriage.

Always call an ambulance if you feel like it's that serious. You go straight to the ER rooms and a doctor sees you ASAP when you get dropped off by EMT.

fukk walking into the ER to fill out paperwork and wait like your at the DMV.

Good point. If you don't show signs/symptoms, the ER can't say fukk it. Can't treat what you don't see

Blacks don't trust white doctors, our history with them isn't good. Racism actually saved us from the opioid crisis.

Her weight has a lot to do with the wait time, because if she wasn't obese chances are less likely she wouldn't have needed to be at the emergency room. Now this can happen to anybody, but it's been proven that excess weight can cause a lot more harm to your body overtime.

You dont know who the hell this chick trusts.

Emergency rooms have garbage wait regardless of weight

Also if she simply stayed put, her visual symptoms would have elevated to the point she would be seen as an emergency, and would have been able to get treated right on site rather than being in transit somewhere else. Don’t go to urgent care if you are having an actual emergency. It’s obviously better than nothing, but if it’s a real emergency they will simply call an ambulance and take you at an actual hospital. I went to the urgent care on the corner right next to my house twice a couple years ago and all they did was stabilize me and call an ambulance to transport me to a full hospital

It's a roll of the dice on wait times. Sounds like impatients helped lead to her death. I remember waiting six hours in an ER once

This type of self diagnosing is exactly why so many people end up fukked up instead of doing annual checkups.

Patient priority is determined by a triage staff once the patient arrives at the ER. Symptoms are assessed and the triage staff takes a medical history. Those with the most critical injuries or symptoms, such as patients with multiple traumas or those unconscious or not breathing, are first priority. These patients are seen immediately.

Patients with urgent symptoms that could deteriorate quickly into an emergency are typically seen in 15 minutes to one hour, while patients with semi-urgent symptoms are generally seen by a physician in one to two hours. Non-urgent patients are given the lowest priority, and could wait as long as two hours or more in a crowded ER [source: McCaig and Burt].
