Something like this happened to me. I was in a grocery store when I ran into a girl I used to have a thing for. I was never bitter that we never got together but still. We talked, she mentioned how she had a kid. Surprisingly I didn't check out then. However, I noticed that she was noticeably skinnier than before (she used to be fine and curvy). While there was probably nothing wrong with her, a voice in my head whispered loudly "this bytch got AIDS!". I made an excuse about needing to use the bathroom and did my best impersonation of Solid Snake and snuck out of there. I never did find out if she had a house in Virginia but I was content nonetheless.
