Care to back any of this nonsense up?

:childplease: You mean besides the countless articles, magazine covers, books, and movies, yes movies, written about the guy?

Once in a while, an athlete comes out of nowhere and ascends to greatness while knocking down all the barriers in his way. Even less often, this athlete is humble, pays homepage to everyone except himself, and carries himself with dignity, humility, and poise that is uncharacteristic of professional athletes today.

Some were so moved, so inspired, so captivated by Linsanity that all these months later the emotion of Lin's incredible February 2012 run still holds them captive. In the eyes and minds of these ever-grateful fans, Lin seemingly has a lifetime free pass. Rough patches are ignored. Scoring droughts are explained away. On-court struggles? Figments of our imagination. They watch Lin's game, but they don't really see Jeremy Lin the player. All they can see, all they will see, is Jeremy Lin the phenomenon.

The decline of Linsanity, in these fans' eyes, was brought about by external factors, not Lin's own shortcomings. Thus began the dischordant Linterpretations of Lin's play. The fans who were sure Linsanity would end closed their minds when it did end, disregarding not only the reasons for the decline, but also the moments this season—including the last four games—when Lin has looked his old Linsane self. The fans who were so taken by Linsanity saw a transcendent talent, and when Lin's play resembled anything other than magnificence, they sought reasons to explain it away—and have continued to seek reasons this season

Lin is hardly a story this season because he went to Houston. He isn't painted as anything.

Houston is having a surprisingly decent season and he's a pretty good player for a kid that hasnt played all that much in the league and came out of nowhere.

This morally superior stuff...I mean come on. Get a grip.

Now that he's struggling they stopped but at the beginning of the season they still were :leostare: and stop bigging up his play when he's clearly overpaid . Your saying jr smith is inefficient but he's a 6th man of the year candidate and people are talking about him to be a Allstar . He's also directly won 2 games Felton is also outplaying him .

Smith is having an inefficient year though....He gets paid next to nothing which is great .....but if he's cold in the playoffs I dont think the season ends well.

Never heard of the L.A Times, huh? Considering your level of intellect, Im not surprised one bit.

which one of those quotes is from the LA Times?

I didnt get to the third one because the first two you had already embarrassed yourself.

As a Knicks fan, I never disliked Lin, what I disliked was the attention that he got and how the media treated this story Lin was a legit feel good story, a story the media didn't need to manufacture or misconstrue for once, yet they managed to twist and contort the story into something it didn't need to be anyway. Calling Lin a "savior", Melo a cancer, and making unsubstantiated claims of Melo being jealous (which was easy to pass over on the public because it fit the narrative the media manufactured themselves), it became another case of sports media being the issue instead of simply reporting them.

Not to mention all the dialogue that involved Linsanity after a while became so tinged with racism that it wasn't even subtle or casual anymore, it was out in the open and the vitriol aimed at both players was disgusting,( alot of the negative attention Lin got was a reactive thing to how the media was covering him) only thing missing was Melo being called a ****** and Lin being called a chink publicly. All because old white bigots and the media managed to drive such a divisive stake though public opinion on the matter.

So sure what Lin did was genuinely heart-warming and inspirational even, but it exposed alot of the ugly we see in media and sports at once and that's what I ended up disliking the most about all of this, and I think alot of people will say the same. The ways that espn, the papers, radio, etc. managed to extract stories out of Linsanity was perverse and (at least to me) became indicative of how shallow and transparent media coverage of sports has come over the last decade

The bulk of what I posted is from an L.A Times article, but true to your nature you're going to play stupid because thats what you're best at.

Im not going to scour the internet to prove to you the environment that "linsanity" created, and how it was insulting to black players and black fans, only for you to find some idiotic way to dismiss it and continue this charade. People like you are adept at creating your own realities and projecting your bias on to others. You see what you want to see, and even if you saw it, Im not confident you possess the capabilities to even process bias and discrimination in its proper context, and on its own terms.

We get it...Racism doesnt exist (unless its reverse racism against whites)...blacks are oversensitive and invent discrimination. Blah, Blah, Blah. Ill check out Bill O'Reilly's talking points later this evening for further clarification.

lol @ all the knicks fans saying jeremy lin wasn't loyal to the only team that gave him a chance.

you do realize james dolan told him to seek out other offers to set his market value right?

so jeremy lin does that and all of a sudden lin is the bad guy/villain?!

knicks fans stay being dumb.

This bizarre persecution complex tangent you're going on is certainly entertaining.

Raleigh by way of Crooklyn
I remember that period wonderfully. At first it was almost like an urban legend that was going on... Me and my man would hit each other up like "nikka did you see what the Asian dude did last night". Nobody was really checking like that around here outside of relocated Knicks fans. The first time I knew that this was gonna be crazy was this moment:

I was watching from a distance, at the dining room table. I saw the flash and the flush, saw it was a lighter skinned dude, knew it wasn't Shump or Swish. Then I was like "that couldn't have been Bibby". But I saw my son sitting in front of the TV like :merchant: and that's when I knew it had been Lin.

After he dropped 38 and 7 on the Lakers on ESPN, that's the moment that I knew this was gonna reach another level. The hype was already starting to reach ridiculous proportions, but that game threw everything into overdrive, and I knew that ESPN was gonna kill it the way they always do. Then the Heat pulled up his skirt on national TV, which had me like :ohhh:, and it was clear afterwards that he wanted no parts of it in the playoffs.... 85%... :shaq2::rudy:

I have what I like to think is a balanced view of the situation. I was all for him staying, but I didn't want to hamstring the future at the same time. I also wasn't even really mad at him trying to get his dough up in the process, even if that meant going back behind the Knicks to get it. Dude had been told by two teams (one in his hometown) that he was good, but not quite, so I understood him trying to :eat: as much as he could. The only trepidation that I had with Felton was that he had been :flabbynsick: the past two seasons. Now, I'm perfectly happy with what we have.
