A breh is back on his Aaliyah shyt.

This is easily one of the most iconic songs that came out of the 90s. It belongs in that same group of songs that are considered game changers - Real Love, Waterfalls, etc etc. Easily one of the defining moments in Aaliyah’s career where she established herself as The Queen.

90s contemporary r&b was the peak of the genre and babygirl was definitely a leader of the pack.

Aaliyah was the queen in 1998?

:patrice:

I thought Whitney passed in 2012.

If Aaliyah was queen in 1998 then Moesha must have been "Super Queen."

And Aretha is still alive.

There’s multiple Queens breh.

Aretha’s Queen of Soul. Mary J is Queen of Hip Hop Soul. I’ve never known Brandy to called Queen of anything BUT Aaliyah was definitely called Queen of R&B.

You contrarian nikkas just like being contrarian on purpose.

Is “Real Love” only iconic because of the Audio Two sample? Is “Waterfalls” only iconic because of the video?

Can you expound breh?
I dont need to expound. :pachaha:
Just because you brought up other songs by other artist doesnt change THIS song or THIS artist. Whats iconic about the song is what most people, even in here, comment on. And it aint her vocals. She didnt write the song so the tempo and composition has nothing to do with her. The beat is the biggest thing about the song and she didnt do that either. So my point still stands that the things that people love most about this song has less to do with her and everything to do with what I mentioned. Stop being tight about it and just pick another song of hers to use this for. Expounded.:yeshrug:
