I dont need to expound. :pachaha:
Just because you brought up other songs by other artist doesnt change THIS song or THIS artist. Whats iconic about the song is what most people, even in here, comment on. And it aint her vocals. She didnt write the song so the tempo and composition has nothing to do with her. The beat is the biggest thing about the song and she didnt do that either. So my point still stands that the things that people love most about this song has less to do with her and everything to do with what I mentioned. Stop being tight about it and just pick another song of hers to use this for. Expounded.:yeshrug:

Is “Real Love” iconic to you? Real question.

Coli nikkas love discrediting Aaliyah because she didn’t write or arrange. I don’t get it.

Mary’s signature song wasn’t written or arranged by her BUT that don’t stop ppl from singing its praises.

Something about Aaliyah. I guess she reminds the hating ass nikkas up here of all the females they were rejected by. :lolbron::mjlol:

My older sis swears up and down Aaliyah wasn’t that good and people was saying she should become a full time actor instead of singing

Was like 3 when she passed so:yeshrug:

I remember the 90s.

Aaliyah was definitely top 3 r&b females in terms of originality, music, and impact. Babygirl put Timbaland and Missy on!

I grew up in the 90s. I was 9/10 when one in a million dropped.

It really was Brandy, Monica and Aaliyah for the r&b teen girls. Mya came out later in 98, I loved all 4 of them. Aaliyah wasn't a one hit wonder, she had bops on her first 2 albums and soundtracks in between. She kept her face out there. Her sound was different from her peers at the time, helped to set her apart.

There’s multiple Queens breh.

Aretha’s Queen of Soul. Mary J is Queen of Hip Hop Soul. I’ve never known Brandy to called Queen of anything BUT Aaliyah was definitely called Queen of R&B.

LOL @ multiple queens. My dude..Aaliyah was not fukking with Whitney in the 90's...Stop it. I'm not gonna even mention the Bodyguard soundtrack......Which Aaliyah album was fukking with "My Love Is Your Love"? None of them

Whitney was “The Voice.” Referring to her as Queen of anything would diminish what she was, as she was not relegated to just ONE genre specifically. The Voice suits her just fine.

And there are multiple Queens. There’s a Queen of Soul, a Queen of Hip Hop Soul, Queen of Pop, etc etc. You can feel how you feel about Aaliyah but she is definitely a Queen of R&B and that’s a fact.
