And just an FYI - @Homeboy Runny-Ray

This was your first post in this thread

this was prolly her best album, but it wasn't great or anything like that to be celebrating the anniversary of its release. LOL. what we gonna do next? celebrate the anniversary of soul 4 real & mya??

EDIT: the OP is the same 12 year old twerp from that janet/whitney thread. NO WONDER. this board is going to chit in a bucket. f*ck it.

Nobody tagged you. You came in here on your own accord and was hating from the jump. And you even felt compelled to throw a personal shot at me over some Janet/Whitney shyt that had nothing to do with the thread from weeks ago.

You’re entitled to your opinion about Aaliyah but please be factual in here. Not one person tagged you.

You're asking someone who came into an appreciation thread about an album hating. Breh is in here attacking a woman who he never knew (and has spent years doing it). I mean who uses the word twerp to belittle anyone besides emotional elementary school age white boys. To add to it, this thread was showing appreciation to Aaliyah's debut and he came in here talking down on Aaliyah. That's behavior you'd expect from females taking pride in throwing shade at other females or a female who is the fan of another female artist talking down just because the success of one female artist os a threat to the one they are stanning. The sheer dedication to tearing down Aaliyah that is displayed is legendary. I mean facts are ignored and reality is completely stripped away. And the hate is even extended to artists that have worked with Aaliyah.

The vitriol he has for Aaliyah is mind boggling, yet fascinating. I’m used to people calling her overrated or feel she was exalted in death. Whatever. People are entitled to their opinion. But the hate this dude has for the girl is truly fascinating. It seems personal. I’m very confused yet very intrigued.

He didn’t headline anything.

And it’s funny that the Aaliyah argument apparently has no social/cultural basis when she even had the industry calling her the “sexy new Queen of R&B.”

so youre basing this off of some white girl reading "new queen of r&b" off a teleprompter at a white award show that WE generally didn't watch or give a f*ck about.

like I said, you dudes weren't around and have no thurl oldheads to fill in the blanks for you. that's why yall resort to basing your opinions off of stupid chit like this.

this is beyond ridiculous at this point, and I just realized that I carried this embarrassing thread to 8 pages, so that makes me part of the problem as well. so this is my last post in here.

btw, I never said Ginuwine headlined anything. we were talking about Aaliyah - your so-called queen of r&b.

I never said I was tagged in here initially.

I was referring to being tagged BACK IN. and I made that perfectly clear already.

I'm out. feel free to revise history & circle-jerk each other now. I hear that's the rave on the coli.

And this is another reason why I fell back from the argument. He flip flops too much.

He was the one who bought up numbers first as to why Ginuwine was bigger than Aaliyah. When he was proven wrong, he changed it to “well numbers don’t mean anything if there’s no cultural/social significance to it.” Huh?

I’ll probably make an appreciation thread for self titled next month and I’m sure he’ll be in that thread perched on the first page hating and flip flopping...yet again.

As much energy as he uses posting about Aaliyah, nikka is lowkey coming across as a bigger Aaliyah stan than me.

something told me that if I double-back, i'd find yall poppin chit with no tags. COWARDS. now I cant UN-subscribe in peace.

if you know my posts, then you know i don't base opinions off sales.

I said that to make a side-point that he sold quicker with less of a push and as a new artist. I was wrong about that, but there was no flip-flop and the original point still stands. yet, for some reason, yall keep trying to bring this back up and force a new narrative behind it each time. you dudes are some weirdos.

And since no reviews of the concert or anything besides an "opinion" was offered, here's some reviews of the concert/tour:

Budweiser Superfest

^^^ This one didn't offer a review of Aaliyah's performance, but highlighted three acts (Bone, Mary, and Ginuwine). In regard to Ginuwine, it appears what I said about his performance is true:

Opening-act highlights included Ginuwine the Bachelor’s perf of his slow-grind smash, “Pony.” Midsong, the R&B heartthrob took of his shirt, jumped in the crowd and let the girls pant and paw, as towels used to wipe his sweat were tossed off the stage to anxious, outstretched hands

^^^ Pretty much goes hand in hand with what I posted in regard to Ginuwine's performance.

Here's other reviews:

Budweiser Superfest hip-hops around idea of real talent

Bone Thugs-n-harmony Performance Disappoints

Blige Rattles Bone Thugs / Singer blows away rappers' campy smoke and mirrors

youre proving my point with this chit, dummy. thanks for the cosign.

shes the only one that got bad reviews besides the articles that gave bone thugs the automatic bad review for being rappers.

and I wasn't even just talking about this tour. I was talking about Aaliyah PERIOD.

She wasn't the only one who got bad reviews as you pointed out. Ginuwine also received bad reviews. Bone didn't get bad reviews strictly for being rappers. They were the headliners and according to the reviews, it was nearly unanimous that Mary was the highlight. So if you're going by crowd response based on how the reviews have the audience receiving them, you'd have to conclude that Mary was bigger than Bone. The point being that just because an artist got excellent crowd response doesn't mean they are the bigger artist.

Breh, you specifically pointed out the Budweiser tour, which is the only one which Ginuwine and Aaliyah were on.

Where did I say anything was wrong with Ginuwine getting a bigger response because the crowd was majority female? I was pointing out the fact that Ginuwine's performances cater more to that crowd (which is why a Ginuwine performance is likely him being shirtless and grinding on stage as the reviews point out), which is why he got a bigger response, not because he was the bigger artist.

And @Homeboy Runny-Ray has no room to call anyone weird when you're insulting an artist in an appreciation thread and have insulted Aaliyah in threads since you've been posting.
