Corny? Of course its drake but forced i dunno...Aaliyah isn't Tupac, she was struggling for relevancy with my generation let alone the one who fuccs with Drake. Doesn't really have sh!t to gain by riding her this hard. This is a guy who didn't listen to rap till he was 15...i'd say the infatuation is probably genuine, probably had Aaliyah & Aaron Carter posters on his wall & like a true lame took it with him into adulthood.

This is your opinion and all, but how can they expand on HER vision without ever having had a conversation with her regarding her music? No matter how you feel about Tim & Missy, they helped establish the sound that you claim Drake & 40 are expanding on. The sound Tim & Missy established with Aaliyah was ahead of it's time even then, so much so that artists like Drake and 40 even have a foundation to build from.

It's not about lettting her legacy fade. Music is timeless. Anyone that wants to hear an Aaliyah song can just Youtube. Creating new records from unreleased material isn't going to build on her legacy anymore than them just releasing those as is.

Drake & 40 creating a posthumous Aaliyah album would be the same as Justin Beiber overseeing a posthumous Michael Jackson album, Rick Ross and J.U.S.T.I.C.E. Legue overseeing a new Biggie album, etc.

LOL, How many Classic Drake and 40 got? Tim and Missy have sold more, have more critical acclaim and have more Classic songs. Drake will probably not move the total units Missy has (Including the songs she's written for others) and 40 will mostly likely never had the status as a producer as Timbaland. The fact is this is a FORCED project for money just like all posthumous LP's are. Aaliyah is dead so how are they "Expanding her vision". Stop, you can't expand someone's vision without talking to the original artist. Something Tim and Missy did not Drake and 40. This is nothing more than a cash grab. LOL @ "Give the fans what they want to hear" Yea, cause Aaliyah fans really want to hear tracks from her with a rapper crying about being rich and dissing other RnB singers.

SMH, most fans on twitter and online said they want Tim and Missy over Drake and 40. It's mostly YM and Drake fans saying he should do this project. Maybe Missy and Timbaland never made an album cause they didn't want to water down her music with useless remixes of demo's and songs she probably never wanted to see the light of day. Also Aaliyah's Legacy hasn't "FADED", when you make 3 Classic albums like she did it doesn't fade. If the new generation wants to know about Aaliyah so bad buy her old albums cause they are going to be lightyears better than anything Drake and 40 can come up with. This is nothing more than Drake living out his obsessive fantasy to be with Aaliyah. Tim and Missy should be the executive Producers not Drake and 40.

I have a feeling this is about to be the very first post-humous remake album to EVER be good. Drake & 40 have immaculate tastes in production, the only thing that holds em back sometimes is Drake's corny vocal presence -- take that out & replace it with a legend like Aaliyah & we might have a masterpiece!

That being said, they ARE working with scraps that werent deemed worth releasing back in the day, NOR even on the first post-humous projects, so I dont know how quality they could be.
also, that being said, they should involve Timbo & Missy. but lets not act like if this was Timmy fully at the helm he wouldn't be trashing it up with his current generic pop techno rock fusion. & his "raps". & let's not act like there'd be any buzz.
