ABC's whole game coverage style is weak!
They need to take it back to NBC.

NBC was always able to bring a narrative to the games that gave it some edge and drama. Those Bulls vs. Lakers/Supersonic vs Bulls/Blazers vs. Bulls intros during those Finals had you feeling like you were getting ready to watch a war break out on the court.

NBA/ESPN/ABC fukked up by having the playoff games on ESPN. ABC should have double headers when possible on weekends. people are cutting cable so put more games on broadcast. Disney should have called the shot on that one. neither network is showing anything important on saturday or sunday until the playoffs get booted for the nfl draft
ABC would disagree with you on that. They'd rather not fukk with their Sunday night lineup if possible. NBC and CBS stack their Sunday Nights and ABC ain't tryna fall behind further.

Even so, there's a reason why ABC is so cool with letting ESPN air games whenever possible. They'd rather not put up with it til Finals, and that's mainly because by then, all the fall shows are ending.

Cable companies are losing. Television is dying. NFL felt the pain this season. MLB got lucky with the Cubs.

Streams set a new record this season, and that trend will continue to go up. Television ratings are not a good way to measure popularity anymore. Especially since the NBA's key demographic is more technologically savvy than older generations.

Don't know how the rest of you 30+ year old heads feel, but I'm about checked out from the NBA period.

I'm pretty much at the "wake me up when the playoffs start" point. :yeshrug:

This is coming from a guy who used to record games on to tape and cop SLAM magazine every month:wow:

All of the players I grew up watching are gon, 5 years from now when Bron, Melo, Wade and a handful of other guys my own age are retired I don't think ill be watching at all anymore. Maybe just the Finals, but I won't really CARE or have any emotional investment in it.
I'm pretty much at the stage now. I barely watch the games as it is now. It's not as exciting as it was for me as a kid in the 90's watching Jordan, Magic, Ewing, Starks, Olajuwon, etc or as a teen/young adult watching Kobe, Iverson, McGrady, Allen, Shaq, Nash, Kidd, Nowitzki, etc.

:whoa::whoa:I'm talking early. After the cavs game they had a damn infomercial about some dude who paints cars :heh:
Move 1 game to a 1-1:30 start and the marquee game starts at 3-3:30. You get 2 games on broadcast, get your evening news and your Sunday lineup.

Having Saturday night basketball is just stupid

Of course your ratings going to be shyt when u have us west coast people and people in mountain time zones not watching no basketball at 5 or 6 pm on Saturday.

Have 2 solid sunday afternoon games like spurs vs Cavs followed by golden state vs houston and ratings will be good

Networks have started pushing toward more sports on Saturday nights because even if they don't do great, they'll pull in better ratings and ad revenue than anything else that day. Putting a new episode of a scripted show on Saturdays is certain death and nobody but old people are gonna sit home and watch Dateline or 20/20 specials.

I thought Fox's Saturday night lineup of Cops/America's Most Wanted would be around forever, but now their Saturday nights are NASCAR, MLB, UFC, or college sports.
