About 90% of the population has no REAL hobbies outside of their jobs. If you're wondering why you feel unhappy and unfulfilled, this is why.

So gaming isn't a hobby, but video editing and content creation is?
I don't really consider gaming in itself a hobby...its something that I enjoy doing to unwind but it's just a passive consumption kind of thing. I think the hobby side of gaming comes out when you're doing something with it - competing, streaming, creating content with it, etc. Could say the same in terms of watching sports vs playing/coaching.

If someone asks me about my hobbies I'm not gonna bring up me playing God of War on PS5 lmao, that's more of an interest. My actual hobbies are boxing, cooking, and public speaking, but stuff like games are what I do to chill unless I'm hitting up a tournament or something.

I wonder if movie night is a hobby :jbhmm: . I'm going to see "MEGAN" tomorrow night regardless. Plus I'm going to have my large popcorn and large drink, and I'm not gonna care what the person setting beside me think...lol.
hop into The Film Room to review it afterwards and THEN its a hobby :troll:

Bro you can't just add the word interactive and boom it's a hobby.
A hobby has to either work your mind or your body.
Like in playing Chess you are sitting down but you are working your mind out.
Sports, working out, these are hobbies, golf however is not a sport but may be a hobby.

And i'm a gamer hardcore too, I just thinking gaming is too passive to be considered a hobby.
That's just IMO
buddy, thats literally what games do :mjlol:

theres games like Elden Ring which force you to strategize or you can try many puzzle-based games as well- Puzzle Games You Have To Be A Genius To Complete

PLUS, theres alot more interactive games that MAKE you be physical

People generally need different TYPES of hobbies... Not all hobby types are equal. You guys are debating different types of hobbies when both of them are fine.

A hobby that is creative or based on real-world skills is completely different from playing video games, which is completely different than other recreational hobbies like Golf, Roller Skating, Firearm Shooting, or Bouldering.

You also have hobbies that make you money, which is where Gaming has an argument due to the success of live streaming and pro gaming.

In 2023 I definitely wouldn't want my only hobby to be video game based though.... Waaaaay too much real-life skill based stuff out their to pursue.

Life IS A VIDEO GAME if you are making the right choices.

The idea that only 10% of people have hobbies is fukkin absurd. Reading, writing, drawing, collectin
sports cards, instruments, gardening, etc. The claim that only 1/10 people partake in such things
might be the dumbest shyt I've seen. :camby:
It’s not dumb at all. Most people spend all their free time on social media these days. The rest are watching tv. Only a small percentage are reading/learning recreationally, going to the gym or active outdoors. That is, without a doubt, a fact.

This is kinda true, I can see it. Especially if your career is pretty taxing either mentally or physically.. sometimes after a long day I don't wanna hit the gym or go play ball or even video game (my go to hobbies) and would rather just lay down at home and do nothing
