when i use to visit da carolinas during da summer and would kome back an try to put nikkas on Yo Gotti, Pastor Troy, Gucci and OJ Da juiceman my nikkas use to hit me wit da :stopitslime:

now u kan katch a jersey, Harlem or queens nikka riding round bumpin some old Guwop and OJ tape....

Exactly

No but dipset was one of the most popular groups from NY since 2000. When you got the Dips making that sound others fpllowed. What really hurt NY was Juelz career he should've been bigger than Wayne right now and that would've paved the way from more ny rappers

Yo bro I never got why was weezy poppin, out here more than Juelz, when Juelz brought dude up here and got him poppin out here.

I wouldn't go that far:whoa:

This was around the time the mixtape game was still in the streets. Wayne's mixtapes mad him hot you can't from on his mixtape run. Juelz just didn't have that type of work ethic plus his situation at Def Jam hurt his career too

I have a different hypothesis to explain why NYC become more southern sounding as time went on. Basically, cultural pressures put a cost on any rapper from NY who valued bars, which in turn created an incentive for NY rappers to adopt popular styles from other regions.

:patrice: Them nikkas been dikkriding the south

NY always bumped Master P shyt...his popular songs atleast...it was before my time but i remember that breakfast club interview Envy was saying he use to spin P records in ny clubs and nikkas would be turnt...

that bounce that Hov /ruff ryders had in they music was inspiired by da south

around that time of da video u posted south and ny artist had started to collabo a lot more from Ti, jeezy, doing tracks wit nikkas from da town....
