I want to thank all you guys for this thread. :salute:It was definitely a mind opening experience. I never attended a real hardcore PWI ( only 35 percent CAC), but I never went to a HBCU either. So it was nice to get both side views.

Just like all things, HCBU's are what you make of it. When it was time to kick it, I kicked it hard. When it was time to hit the books, I hit the books hard. Everyone that was in my social circle on the yard are now successful professionals. I'm talking teachers, professors, military officers, lawyers etc.

My HCBU had its good and had its bad. If anything, the bad helped me build character and how learn how to survive in the real world.

Go to a better HBCU:yeshrug:

At least you get to go to a HBCU. If Howard wasn't going to put me in 80k of debt, I might have gone there myself.

So you say go to a better HBCU

And in the same breath state Howard was trying to get you 80k in debt with no help

And isn't Howard one of the best??????

So what are OP's options????

Langston University in this bytch class of o fo'. I loved my experience there. Had good and bad times. Met some really good people, smoked some terrible weed, drank like a fish got ass, and grades. Last but not least getting turnt with my frat PBS. But everyone i know that graduated have their own businesses, working great jobs and living life. Like 1 poster said its what you make of it. I could have done more but I'm satisfied with how my life turned out.

The way he described his HBCU, I'm pretty confident he could find a better HBCU that isn't as costly as Howard University. I'm Thinking on the lines of FAMU, Jackson State, NC&T.
