Its required in MD i passed with perfectly a month ago. Luckliy I passing it you don't need to do an exam at the mva or road test at the mva.
Silly thing is though that course is pretty useless. They just have you doing turns/swerves/cones maneuvers in a parking lot and practice stopping at 5-20 mph. No road time. I really pray for people riding bikes.
After I passed I was walking back to the lot to leave and a white dude was like his brother got killed at an intersection from a left turning vehicle.
My uncles best friend got killed; hit and thrown off the guardrail on a bridge and run over on the freeway below when I was a kid. I remember seeing him on his sport bike. My uncle said he used to wave to him everyday on his work commute.
My granddad used to ride and got rear ended by a car behind him doing a turn too fast and thrown off his bike in his fifties. His jeans and leather jacket completely tore and the white of his skin showed all over his legs and back he never rode again and had a slight limp after that.
