Academic Black people walk a thin line when addressing with White supremacy

Seriously??? Have you looked around the past 80 years? Ever since black people gave up their economic base for "intergration" we barely have Fortune 500 companies and huge businesses. We was taught that go to school so we can get a job, not go to school so we can Create businesses for us. Then we have black people talking about "it ain't about the money"

most black professors do speak out. However if your field is math or something, your voice isn't going to be as prominent as the people you talk about. Not everyone wants a discussion fueled by media coverage. There are black who bring attention to economic disparity through studies you don't know about people they aren't coded with "white supremacy" and they're not all over twitter or huff post talking about it. But they put it out there in bigger and more substantial ways than your average person (ahem).

Why don't you go to school and create us some businesses.

its much easier to sit at a computer and pass judgement and point fingers then actually engaging in social movement or educational/community improvement actions

What the fukk are you talking about? Ignorance is bliss huh? here's what we have done in one year alone in Illinois:

1)Got the community to protest the building of another prison near the black area of Champiagn, IL so the legislation did not pass and the the money is now into building a school to be opened at the end of next year

2)a white cop shot a killed a 14 year old and we got the community organized, made so much fukking noise that the cop was arrested and fired; the family is getting a settlement and we got one of the professors listed above to actually give a COURSE on race relations to all newly hired cops in the STATE OF ILLINOIS.

3)We have opened a rec center that was not being utilized, so in effect, we have programs for the neighborhood kids to participate in after school now

4)We pushed for a black history component to be taught in elementary schools in ALL SUBJECTS and we are writing the curriculum as we speak and the pilot program starts this Fall

5)We got the Medical Center in the city to change its legislation in regards to blood pressure testing and other blood tests for poor people, which are mostly black; they will give free testing on certain weekends for the people without health insurance.

That's all this past year and we got more planned. Everyone I listed played a part in that and we are doing other things in other states...so instead of acting like a bytch and saying nobody is doing anything in academia, you need to get your ass up and join us or any community that is doing everything they can to help the oppressed people anywhere.

Then again, you are an engineering student so you may not be able to fully comprehend how complex the plight of the black working and poor classes are...Do you realize how important education, health care, police-community relations, and the ending of incarceration are to the progress of our people? Dude you are CLEARLY not ready to engage in discussion about our people if you think those are bandaids...

I'm an engineering student, this issue is not complex. My job is to solve problems. All of this goes down to economic issue . Is that simple. You fools is trying to make complicated because most of you not really trying to solve the problem. Y'all scared! Just say that! Y'all talk a good game but not getting anything done. Honestly I can't do nothing other that stack my money and encourage others to stack their money and build businesses. Until then, I can't really do nothing.
