I see y'all on your uber militant bullshyt today, so it's whatever...
I just think you guys are missing the point. Until we collectively do something to force them to tell the stories we want, or bankroll our OWN stories, we gon hafta work within the damn system. Your entire premise is based on some notion of worrying about what white people think about us instead of what WE are doing to change us. Aint nobody pandering to white establishment by suggesting this movie should be judged by the same standards as any other Hollywood movies on the same scale, get the fukk outta here with that silliness.
Meanwhile,
@cornercommission2k12 , while you typin in unnecessarily extra large text n shyt

, explain to me what it is exactly that YOU are doing to counter or balance what has been accomplished (even marginally) by this movie? Do YOU have a script out there? Are you prepared to bankroll the type of feature you desire? Do you even plan to lobby sponsors to get the type of financing necessary to do something like that? If so, I salute you.
But UNTIL then, y'all nikkas gonna continue to bytch about it and do NOTHING instead of trying to effectuate the very type of change you in here claiming to champion.
Stop being so dense. Being proud of a Black movie that represents the upbringing of SO MANY different races and creeds - and subsequently wanting success for it - is far from pandering to the white establishment.
nikkas tryinta take the damn FUN outta life by politicizing ere'thing, what the hell y'all so damn MISERABLE for....
