Sadly me being in L.A, the valley no less, I’m probably gonna end up at a white firm/company. I’m looking at the white kids on my LinkedIn that go to my school and they have accounting jobs rn without a bachelors degree yet, so I’m thinking if they can do it, I can do it. I been applying to everything that pops up for the last 2 months and haven’t even secured an interview:huhldup:just trying to apply what I learn as I progress in college cuz rn I feel I haven’t learned/retained anything due to online classes.

unless you have a cpa or high grades and are participating in school meet n greets, it can be next to impossible. If I were you, I'd try and find a black cpa firm and try to intern to get something to put on your resume. If that fails, get your cpa or maybe try government accounting jobs, since those may be easier to get into.

You have to network and look for job fairs. Look if your school has a naba or a black professional org. If not look for a any professional org.
I have my 1st accounting internship lined up for this summer but it took me years. I got a interview through a virtual job fair.

Unfortunately, experience or a degree is big in accounting.
It took me a while to get my first job. But once you get some experience you will almost always be able to find a good job.
Now is a good time to try to intern at a tax accounting location. I looked up tax accountants in my area and asked if they needed any help while I was in school.

Bruh I'm tryna get a Business Admin Degree focused in Accounting and feel the same way completely learned nothing is Bus Calc as well as Macroeconomics, I get general concepts vaguely, but it's more common sense/real world observations than learning.

I feel like Favre, I could ball even though I don't know how to read defenses, but why be Favre, when there's Bradys/Mahomes/Rodgers out here, plus I'm a breh so I kinda need to start cooking early or else. I'm in SD pre-covid was supposed to transfer to Fullerton in the Spring but now I'm on track for the fall

Not hard at all...

Accountemps

You're welcome.

EDIT: I was a Payroll Clerk in the Marine Corps. When I got out in '92, I went to a place like the one I posted and was working the following week for K. Hovnanian Enterprises as an Accounts Payable Clerk. Stayed with them for 3 years until they moved the office I was working way up North. They were going to hire me full-time, but the pay wasn't enough due to the commute.

If you don't have a degree then typically you can get something like payroll, accounts payable, billing, bookkeeper, lots of part time work for that too.

If you're interested in taxes, look into enrolled agent, they can actually represent people if the irs audits them, makes good money.

what type of degrees you need to get these type of jobs? Like wtf :mjtf:
