While I understand your need to quickly sweep this under the rug, the fact of the matter is that Action Bronson doesn't have a core identity that's different from Ghost. Period. You'll keep bumping into this problem because it's inescapable and obvious. He's basically a lamer version of Ghostface. The differences are there, but they're trivial. Like Ghostface is not into wrestling, and Action is. Ghost talks about food, but Action was an actual chef. Ghost is a Stapleton nikka, and Action plays up his semi-white trash taste for jokes.

But deep down, they're basically approaching rap in the same way: colorful, larger-than-life outlandish NY rap nikka with a penchant for food and 'real hip hop'. Except one is the original and WAY better at it. And the other is coasting by on a gimmick.

We often look at mainstream hip hop being full of gimmicks, but forget that the underground has some of the lamest gimmicks of all-time while pretending they aren't, which adds a layer of pretentiousness that doesn't exist in mainstream.
:heh: Whatever you say breh. Ghost even spoke on this and doesn't agree with you. Stop pushing your opinion as fact.

I love how you're quoting Ghost because you don't have the ability to form an opinion on your own. Keep being a tool.

Industry cosigns are meaningless because the industry is fake. Ghost is probably not speaking against it because Action's manager is a friend of his or something like that. Or he flat out doesn't give a fukk because he knows Action wont hurt his pocket and may even enhance it when the right time comes. It's a business of relationships and favors.

But whatever makes you feel better, work with that.

You're twisting yourself into corners trying to justify that Action and Ghostface don't sound alike. I guess all those comparisons to Ghostface came out of thin air, right?

The fact of the matter is that Action is a watered down clone of Ghostface. He's not a 1-to-1 copy of Ghostface because that's impossible for any artist. But he's at least 80% Ghostface. The issue is: is that tolerable? For some, it is. For others like myself, it's not.

I think there are plenty of reasons to dislike Action, and honestly I don't think him sounding somewhat like Ghostface is even top 5.

They both have a similar accent, and are sort of high pitched when they rap. They have completely different flows, they rap about completely different topics. I think the similarity is that they have similar pitches to their voice, but that's it. It's not like Sacario and Jay-Z, or Your Old Droog and Nas. shyt I think MF Doom and Earl almost sound more alike than Ghostface and Bronson.

Listen to the song that they're on together. I don't think they sound very similar here at all.

Show me where I quoted ghost ? I'll wait. Simply said Ghost himself, along with bunch of other people, including myself, do not agree with your opinion. Now if you feel some sort of way when people do not agree with your opinion, I do not know what to tell you Sir bytch nikka.

enough of this shyt.

They both got a high pitched voice. THE END.

You saying they both got "colorful, larger than life outlandish NY Rap" personas is like saying Danny Brown and Eminem are alike cause they both rap about doing drugs.

THEN you list their differences and say they're "trivial"

They DONT have the same rap flow or cadence BY ANY MEANS.

Bronson has LITTLE TO NO storytelling ability

Bronson is NOWHERE NEAR as abstract with his rhymes as Ghost

PLEASE show me a rhyme where Ghost is talking about jumping out of helicopters and doing triple somersaults through buick sunroofs.

HOW THE fukk do you compare somebody rhyming

to somebody rhyming like

and say "They the same at the core"!?

Is Mike Tyson the same at the core cause his voice high pitched too?

It's like you cats put on Ghost and just played the shyt in the background without listening, then heard somebody with a high pitched voice and flipped the fukk out.

Every time you cats compare these two cats it's an insult to them and it's an insult to you.

THeir voice pitch is the same.

Let the shyt go.

and then you lil nikkas be KILLING me talking that shyt "Ghost is into food too! so Bronson biting his food loving by talking about food in his rhymes!"

You really gonna compare Ghost saying "This rap is like ziti" "Rhymes is made of Garlic (slays vampires)"

to somebody who be dropping whole damn recipes, talking about digging holes and roasting whole sheep in them... do you even know what stewed rabo is?

You're claiming that a nikka rhyming about bone marrow spreaded on bread baked with rosemary and drizzled with basic vinaigrette is biting off a nikka rhyming "We eat fish, tossed salads...."?

I think there are plenty of reasons to dislike Action, and honestly I don't think him sounding somewhat like Ghostface is even top 5.

You're right. I think Action is a terrible rapper in general, even if he didn't sound like Ghostface.

Completely different topics is a stretch, but yes - that is a clearer demarcation.

But you have to understand, I'm a beat and flow guy. Action Bronson flows like Ghostface. This shyt is undeniable. If he didn't, no one would be talking about it.

And he picks out colorful/soul beats that are semi-Wu Tang-ish. This was a huge problem in the beginning. Not so much anymore. Action is starting to rhyme on his own style of production but it's been too little to late.

Sacario, Your Old Droog, and Earl... all trash. I don't listen to clones. especially bad ones.

Listen to the song that they're on together. I don't think they sound very similar here at all.

I hate when people post that as an example. You're talking about Ghostface 20 years into the game. His voice has obviously changed and he doesn't have the energy he once did.

When I say Action Bronson sounds like Ghostface, he sounds like Supreme Clientele-Bulletproof Wallets era Ghostface. It's not the same Ghostface that's on Meteor Hammer.

But it's been done before. and way better. That's my point.

Every time you cats compare these two cats it's an insult to them and it's an insult to you.

Action Bronson is fukking garbage. Don't act like people don't have legitimate concerns with him appropriating Ghostface and just being a garbage rapper overall.

Believe me, I know Action is nowhere close to Ghostface in the storytelling department. or flow dept. or beat selection. He is shyttier than Ghost in every way imaginable.

But you can't deny that they give off very similar vibes. And hip hop is about VIBES. It's not really a lyrical thing. The greatest rappers are memorable because they bring a certain vibe on wax that no one else can bring. You could repeat their verses, structure your rhymes like they do and still not get the vibe.

the way Ghost flows "Hold up, we at the opera, Queen Elizabeth rubbing my leg, had ketchup on her dress from a whopper" gives a very similar outlandish larger-than-life comic-booky hilarious vibe to "sitting butt naked in the Lamborghini, reading the newspaper"

Y'all are either dancing in circles trying to avoid the obvious or not intelligent enough to see the nuances.

Why are you playing stupid? You're the one that mentioned "because Ghostface said so." That was my point.

Are you a stan? Because I can't entertain discussions with stans. It's such a waste of time. All they do is deflect and twist words.

Comparing Action Bronson to Ghost in 2015 is corny as fukk

nah, man it be pissing me off, cause it's not like Nas/Droog comparisons where they sound EXACTLY alike outside of beat selection, a slight change of tempo and one rapping rich and the other rapping poor.

Ghost and Bronson sound NOTHING alike outside of their voices being a similar pitch. Beat selection, rapping, subject matter, nothing.

then just say that's your only concern and stop making yourself look like a moron by looking for a reason you don't like him and comparing the two.

":lupe: I don't like this rapper but I can't just say that. I better find a reason. :ohhh: OH shyt HE SOUND A VERY TEENSY LIL BIT LIKE GHOST FACE! :damn::dahell::scusthov: oh my god I'm so offended!"

I'm a beat and flow guy. Action Bronson flows like Ghostface.

you are mistaking flow with delivery. Bronson been getting the Ghost comparison since when he used to flow like Kool G. I hate to sound like Ronnie-Rhyme Scheme over here but it's obvious that these two do not flow the same. You just don't like him, which is cool, but you're over here spitting out factoids like they're gems.

then what the fukk are you comparing!?

"He sound like Bulletproof wallets ghost."

maaan shut the fukk up! :russ:

ol "hip hop is about VIBES!" ass nikka! :bryan:

so do you have an intelligent response/argument to what I thought out, or you're just gonna toss lame disses from afar?

I expect your type of response. Typical stan deflection from people who aren't used to reasoning their own opinions.
