But guns arent the problem.

Whether legally or illegally, if you are on some murder shyt, it isnt hard to get one. And no, cowboy shyt dont work. If a guy starts bussing and 40 people pull out guns, I dont feel any safer. How do they know who the bad guy is and who is to say I wont get shot by a “hero”?

this has to be some sort of record right now
I have never seen america this dangerous right now
Late crack era (early 90s) was way worse. Didn't make the news as much though because 24/7 news channels weren't much of a thing back then and the violence mostly affected a small segment of society that White people didn't care as much about.

This wasn't too far from where I live.

I think the fracturing of the family unit and isolation of individuals is more to blame than guns.

Also the pharmaceutical industry.

European countries have more fractured families and more people living alone than the USA does. They don't have mass killings. And a lot of the mass shooters have come from two-parent homes.

Not saying that fractured families aren't a big problem to address, but they don't appear to address this issue very well.

If you don't want a gun don't buy one and let everyone else have theirs in peace. The UK has less gun cime but is filled with stabbings.

In other words, if criminals can't get a hold of guns, they'll find something else. Prisoners don't have access to guns and yet somehow it's extremely dangerous in prison because of the mindset of the population in there. It's tiring how after every situation that involves a shooting, we get some feigned outrage and sadness with a gun control pitch right after.

Chicago has strong gun control laws and yet gang memberes are shooting up each other like the wild wild west.

I hear you but guns were around well before this exponential increase of mass shootings and gun related violence. I think our story as Americans is unique and why people cling onto the 2nd Amendment.

Personally given the oppressive history of African Americans in America I'm unwilling to bend toward banning guns or more gun control but I understand.

To echo my initial point of isolation and fracturing we have social media as well. I wonder if European societies are as disconnected as us. Some families it's not uncommon for their children to stay in their homes until they are 30. We kick out children out at 18 in America. Not to mention our over worked culture.

In Sweden over 50% of households are single-person, and I hear story after story about how few marriages there are in Europe. Pretty sure they're more fractured than us, or at least comparable enough that it doesn't explain the difference.

And the rise in mass shootings recently is just the latest sign, but mass shootings have been more common in the USA going way back. Murders have been higher in the USA for decades. Police killings have been higher in the USA for decades. This shyt didn't change recently.
