What the fukk are you even ranting about? What does what I said have to do with anything you just typed?

Will absolutely deserved to be punished. I'm still not going to demonize the man for one momentary in an otherwise spotless 3+ decades in the spotlight. The man and his family have been relentlessly bullied for the past 2 years and he finally snapped.

Also, it's ironic how you're outraged about a slap but defend & openly stan a man who shot a black woman in the foot.

It hasn't been proven that he shot her yet. His DNA was reported nowhere on the gun. So you missed muthafukka with that one.

I hate to say it, but Will Smith might be done. :yeshrug: The problem with him is that he built an image of a squeaky clean dude, then tarnishes that image by assaulting another famous black man in front of the whole world. Instead of being known as the cool movie star we all grew up with, he will be known as the man who slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars. That slap has been seen by millions all around the world. Dude will be alright financially, but professionally a lot of people will just not work with him simply because they don't want that association. All for Jada :wow:

Why are some of you keep bringing up those with questionable sexual behaviors?

They never slapped anyone on a stage. The situations are not comparable.
Yeah. People have bad understanding. The Oscars are take action against Will because he was inappropriate at THEIR EVENT. Anything that happens outside of that is not their responsibility.

His actions. His consequences. I gotta say, though, I feel bad for Jada in all of this. That she was thrust into the middle of this drama, really through no fault of her own. It was a tasteless joke about a woman suffering from a disease. She didn't have to laugh. And Will didn't have to get physical on her behalf. Sadly, I see she is catching most of the blame for not laughing at a joke that was made at her expense. I think a lot of people have a subconscious bias against black women, and the fact that a black man stood up for his black wife rubbed people the wrong way. At the core of Will's reaction to the joke was an acknowledgement that his wife--a black woman--has intrinsic value that he felt the need to defend. It goes against what we are taught, as a society, about black women; that they have no worth. This situation was only compounded by the fact that a black man was the one defending a black woman because that goes against what we are taught, as a society, about black men; that black men have no power. Again, I think a lot of this is subconscious, and is a big part of the reason why so many people, white people especially, were/are bothered by his actions. Hollywood is ground zero for white supremacist imagery, and Will Smith stood on one of it's biggest platforms and acted in a way that contradicted years of white supremacist propaganda. There are many layers to this controversy, why it was controversial, and why he is being punished. I'm not saying that what Will did was right, because I don't think you should ever put your hands on someone unless they put their hands on you. My point is that there are themes that are playing out in response to this controversy that should not be ignored, and should be examined.

Black men stand up for black women everyday.

and lets be honest... Will got off lucky.

If he did that shyt in the streets, he coulda got some bullets in the chest.

A 10 year ban is nothing compared to the fate alot of black men suffer when they lose their temper on behalf of black women.

Y’all don’t even see that we’ve literally just seen the 2020’s version of what happened with Cosby.

Right down to a black comedian being the cause of the fukkery. Rock = Burress. Will = Cosby.

Whole thing has literally played out the same way.

Unfortunately none of those guys did their crimes on live TV.

Roman Polanski was a convicted pedophile and fugitive when he was given his award :unimpressed:

He's going to be hurting for a bit but he can also rebrand himself and his road to "redemption", do some documentaries, take on some different roles and do more comedy.
