The reason for backlash against Ja is mainly because he's a studio gangster. It's the stupidity of it all that turned people against him.

Also for the first gun incident he used the 'mental health' and rehab excuse but it was so transparent and off putting because couldn't even keep up the charade for two weeks. First interview out of the rehab he was like 'nah I never had any alcohol problems I just went there to manage stress'.
