Adam Silver: Age limit top priority

I hate Adam Silver already. I dislike him infinitely more than I did Stern.

Like the Comedian said in Watchmen, "It's all a fukking joke." The same way the NCAA and the NBA colluded and got dudes to go to school for one year, now they're further colluding to mitigate the angst against the one and done phenomenon, and to further their own agenda under the guise of, "What's best for the game." This shyt is literally basic conflict theory 101 (classes within society have differing amounts of material and non-material resources (such as the wealthy vs. the poor) and that the more powerful groups use their power in order to exploit groups with less power).

i just don't think playing against inferior competition is really helping these guys game THAT much. some of these dudes could stay in college 8 years and still not be ready. i think developing the d-league farm system is probably a better idea but whatever. its not like im going to boycott watching if they do this

Today's player don't give a fukk. They're already in the league. The kids who this will affect, and arguably hurt, aren't allowed to be at the bargaining table.

A similar issue arose in the most recent MLB labor discussions. The new agreement greatly reduced the amount of money/bonus money a team could pay draft picks and international signings. Essentially, this just cut the current players a bigger slice of the revenue pie while those most affected didn't have a vote. That said, I'm not sure how an increased age-restriction would affect player salaries in the NBA, if it would at all. But the issue of representation is the same.

i just don't understand why NBA and sports team owners have to be saved from their own dumb decisions. If you're not confidence on a HS senior don't draft them. If you're not confident on someone younger than 20 don't draft them. Buyer beware; its YOUR fault not theirs.

What do you mean take more years? Individual players will take a year longer to reach it, but the same number of players will be coming into the league each year making the same amount of money allocated to them.

I don't think this will have much of an effect on salary distribution.

The players union leadership is nothing but :flabbyshaq: players trying to delay retirement and steal one last check. Old man Fisher doesn't want any young players taking his spot.
