Having said that, I do think to maintain those principles that I discussed in terms of creating a league in which every team has an opportunity to compete, we do need to re-examine some of the elements of our system so I'm not here next year or the year after that talking about anomalies.

All teams have the opportunity to compete, but you can't stop a player from leaving when he's allowed to.

OKC at one point had KD/Russ/Harden/Ibaka. They didn't want to pay Harden so they shipped him off, they had injury problems that kept them from advancing the next 2-3 years. KD had a chance to leave, he did. Russ will probably do the same.

Even if KD didn't go to OKC, the other teams he looked at, outside of Boston, he would've joined "elite" players.

I'm not sure how you can stop that.

Choose Kendrick Perkins over James Harden then complain about your small market team not being able to compete brehs.

What gripe do the owners have tho? Same rules for everybody. Cleveland has a higher payroll than us yet nobody saying shyt.
The same they had with heat, Warriors will have to most likely part ways with Draymond or Klay in the future

Silver said the last lockout was to encourage parity by encouraging competition based on management and not market size. Draymond was a second round pick that 30 teams passed on. Klay was the 11th pick that 10 teams passed on for guys like Jimmer and Biyombo.

In order for us to get Iggy we had to give Utah picks to take Jefferson and Biedrins. In order to get KD we had to get Dallas to take Bogut. Smart management built this team and other teams helped facilitate.
