To add:

unless you're a AFC East or Browns fan, you can go into a season and say to yourself, "man if this goes right, we could be a playoff team and maybe win the division. There's a glimmer of hope that regardless of how your team was, you could have a successful season.

Who this season in the NBA can you say "man, job well done, they had a very good season? Even the loser of Cavs /Dubs is gonna consider their season a failure.
The shots at Cleveland :wow:.

But seriously, we laugh at the Jets and Lions but they've been in the playoffs recently. The Jets were in AFC championship games with MARK SANCHEZ as QB. I can't speak to the NHL like that. But the NBA is starting to look like La Liga with Real Madrid and Barcelona. On second thought, how is that league so popular :patrice:

This is such lazy bullshyt. Those series were competitive and the games were closer. During those so-called "dominant" eras, all those teams had scares and barely won. Moreover, basketball did not have nearly the audience when it had the most parity because as a whole it had not taken off as much. Tom Brady played the same team in the SB once. Manning played a different team in the SB all 3 times. Manning has a losing playoff record or maybe he's now just over .500. Brady went a decade without winning another SB. Did you really just type this bullshyt with a straight face?

Did you? :mjlol: The Cavs and Warriors have had competitive series' with close games in previous years. shyt just this year folks were talking about how close the Cavs games with the Pacers were. They were two missed wide open Js from being 2-2 in the first round and they had a another game where they came back from down 25 at the half. The problem is that nikkas are ignoring all of that and acting like we've seen 10 straight years of them straight running through people. Cats acting like we've never seen teams run through the playoffs or had predictable results before. Lazy bullshyt is pining for parity that has rarely existed throughout the history of sports and acting like the biggest boom periods for most sports haven't coincided with 1 or 2 teams running shyt. It's also lazy bullshyt to act like football and basketball aren't vastly different games with vastly different playoffs structures and attempting to make and apples to apples comparison. 2 guys going to 11 SBs and winning 7 in 16 years in football is the equivalent of what we saw in the 80s in basketball based on the nature of the game.

You have always needed luck and parity has never been realistic. There is no rule that you can make that will create more transcendent players or make FOs any better at building around such players. When there was no cap or FA there was no parity. When you put the cap in there was no parity. When you brought max salaries in, still no parity. Same will be true with the supermax.

This year is worse than the worst year I remember. You look at last year and the Warriors had to go through 7 games with OKC. Now that OKC team doesn't exist. KD could have gone to Washington and played with Beal and Wall and we would have had 4 title contenders. But instead he goes to GSW who didn't need him and then Leonard gets hurt so we only have two teams who can compete.

4 teams out of 30 still ain't parity or close to it. The cap spiking like it did the year that KD was a FA while STeph was still on his sweatheart deal was nothing but luck.

Of course he doesn't

The NBA has been dreaming of another Lakers/Celtics rivalry and they'll do anything to make sure the finals goes at least 6 games

Lakers vs. Celtics "rivalry" was Bird and Magic. They only faced each other 3 times. Lakers faced Philly 3 times as well. Magic went to teh finals 9x, Bird only 5

I know 4 don't make it parity but honestly it's impossible for the league to ever have parity. I don't think the league needs parity. But having four title contenders at least makes it so that the finals in each conference are worth watching. This entire playoff run is waiting on the inevitable. People forget that in the 80s and 90s the dominant teams still had rivals in their conferences to go through. The east got terribly shytty around 2000 and it never recovered. The west had a good 5-6 teams holding it down every year but this year there's nobody but the Warriors and a Spurs team that's all banged up.

They msot of the time dominate the Champions League and they have Messi and Ronaldo. The league itself is not that good.

No one actually wants parity.

If we had it the same folks would be complaining about a bunch of .500 teams and how no one is heads and shoulders above the comp.

Then when their .500 team still doesn't win a chip it'll be because they don't have a trancendant star and it was rigged and blah blah fukk shyt.

At least right now, I can honestly say that the 2 best teams in the league are going heads up every year and the finals mean something.

Exactly.

Sometimes conference finals are good, sometimes they are bad. We can't sit here and act like we have never had bad CFs before. The West had 5 or 6 teams holding it down when the Lakers were running the Spurs off the floor, or when the Spurs did the same a couple years prior or when both teams combined won the conference 11 out of 12 years :mjlol:? :comeon: Like I said, if we had 5 or 6 straight years of teams on both sides sweeping through then we could talk but as it stands right now, people are just bytching about something we have seen numerous times before because it ain't their squad or the "right" squads doing it.
